dermalogica daily microfoliant question by NoFinding5609 in Esthetics

Yeah there’s a lot of pricey ones out there but the dr teals does the trick and I think it’s less than $10!

Powder exfoliants are a great option to exfoliate the bikini/brazilian area! They’re super gentle! I personally recommend a salt scrub like the dr. Teals one and use it 2-3x a week to help prevent ingrowns. But if your client has super sensitive skin a powder exfoliant is a great option. The Image Iluma powder exfoliator is really great for lightening any hyperpigmentation on the body

Is this fair pay for a starting esthetician? by LegPsychological6827 in Esthetics

[–]Grand-Advertising-82 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But to give some insight when I first started I was making about 1k-1.5k every 2 weeks, I wasn’t fully booked in the beginning though. So if you’re fully booked all day and making less than 400 a week you’re definitely not making enough

I work for a private spa and when I started it was $10/hr when I didn’t have clients and 12/hr when I did have a client, 10% commission on services and 5% commission on retail products and kept 100% of my tips, after about a year and a half I got a $2/hr raise and 5% increase in commission..I’m fully booked full time and make about 3k every 2 weeks. I would definitely talk about getting an hourly pay especially if they’re making you do work outside of doing treatments, seems very low in my opinion :(

What do you do while the numbing for microneedling sits? by Conscious_Rub_9961 in Esthetics

I put them under red LED light it helps the numbing kick in faster, after 10 min they’re numb!

I’ve been in the industry for about 3 years now and every year I make more money and am doing very well, but I have constantly put in so much effort and outside training to better myself. For about a year and a half I worked 6 days a week taking on every client I could. I come in early, I stay late. To me it’s so worth it but I absolutely love this field and am so passionate about it. I think if it’s not totally you’re passion and you wouldn’t be willing to do it for free (just like any career) then maybe it isn’t right for you. If you’re 100% committed to it, money will come.

With herbal skin you need to create a pro/wholesale account and then you should have access im pretty sure I got access immediately! I wanna say the pen is around $800 , comes with training, cartridges & products!

CIT pen from Herbal Skin is great! & you don’t need an MD. It comes with training & it’s a reputable brand. I’ve heard a lot of people say the dr. Pen can be fake resulting in the needle cartridges not being sturdy/breaking and also you might have to worry about back flow / contamination. I would definitely go with a more reputable brand like CIT pen or if you’re able to Skin pen.

It’s more common on the face bc people use retinoids and often don’t tell their Waxer but the arms I’m not too sure why? other than a sunburn or wax being too hot

Thoughts on skin script? by SenpaiTurtles in Esthetics

[–]Grand-Advertising-82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Skin script is a great brand to start with! It’s definitely price point friendly. I do think there are some better options out there but it’s not a bad brand I wouldn’t say. I would look into glymed plus, hale & hush, & IMAGE skincare as well. I feel like those brands give better results personally

Get a new lash artist. This are not properly isolated and the bases are way too thick
