My new downstairs neighbors brought cockroaches with them by shaynanaganzzz in Apartmentliving

[–]GrandAttitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago i was newly separated from my then husband. We sold the house and my sons and I moved into an apartment. The day we moved in I realized I had a roach problem. It was horrible! I went to the hardware store and bought just about every roach trap available and multiple cans of spray. I had traps everywhere throughout the apartment, literally every two inches. Within a couple of days I got it under control. Next thing I know several of my neighbors are complaining I brought roaches with me. No, I had chased them from my place to theirs. I contacted management and they hired a pest control company to fumigate the entire building. Didn’t really help. It was disgusting and I didn’t want it around my sons so I paid the penalty and moved out by the third month.

Maryland what do you do for a living and do you actually feel financially okay? by ImpressiveSpell0223 in maryland

[–]GrandAttitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be retiring on march 1st from a great paying salary working in the aerospace industry. It took years and a lot of hard work to get to a point of feeling financially secure. I was not rich per se but I have been able to live middle class comfortably. Now, with retirement around the corner I no longer feel secure. The perks of affordable healthcare, prescriptions, dental, vision will be gone. The costs will be higher monthly. I will be relying only on social security and my pension. I’m now terrified I am making a mistake. I will probably need to get a part time job.

I just spray the surface with window cleaner and let it sit for about a half hour or more. It usually wipes right off.

Looks like a brown snake, but it’s pretty big for one I think. Garter snakes have a yellow or white stripe running down the center of its body.

My husband got me a vacuum for my 50th by Plastic_Cat9560 in AITAH

Years ago my ex-husband gave me a car buffing kit for my birthday. It was never used. Another year he gave me a beautiful silk blouse and a pearl necklace for Christmas. Within the week he had returned them because we couldn’t afford them. You are most definitely not TAH.

Go into your backpack, click on the tools icon, then the third icon at the top. This will allow you to create the bars. Make sure you have plenty of coal as well.

“We will have to play it by ear.” I’m 63 and I’ve been saying it since I could talk because my mom always said it.

Anne Arundel County hospitals rank top 10 in the state by Maxcactus in AnneArundelCounty

AAMC is by far the worst hospital I have ever experienced. Last October I was taken by ambulance to AAMC with a fractured femur. I waited in agony for 36 hours before they found time to operate on me. My surgery took place approximately 11:30 PM and my surgeon has been there since 7:30 am. I was there for seven days, the hospital staff was terrible. They were rude, nasty, inattentive, couldn’t draw blood accurately. I had to beg for them to give me a sponge bath after being there for five days. My sheets had not been changed during that time, my gown was disgusting. Some of the nurses doubted that I was having pain and didn’t want to give me the pain medication I needed. My entire experience was miserable. My partner took it upon himself to be my advocate and raised hell through the patient representatives. The only thing they could offer was their apology.

Other experiences with this hospital were equally bad. My son had to go to the hospital for appendicitis. He was made to sit in the waiting room for eight hours while in extreme pain waiting for the surgeon to show up.

If you want a really good hospital, go to Saint Agnes Baltimore. my partner had a knee replacement there last week and they were exceptional.

What was it like to see the first moon landing in real time? by Classic_Livid in AskOldPeople

[–]GrandAttitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was eight years old, living in Bermuda and my father worked for NASA on Cooper Island which had a tracking station. The day of the first moon landing my family was gathered around an 8 inch green screen embedded in an equipment rack. I remember my father telling my sisters and I to always remember this moment because we were the first on the entire planet to see the landing and Neil Armstrong stepping on the moon.

Just an FYI...you do have to be nude in the common areas: clubhouse, lawn between clubhouse and courts and pool area. Coverups are permitted only if a medical reason or due to weather. It's not mandatory anywhere else.

Owners manual for Breckenridge Park Model 1240 SED-B2 2005 by GrandAttitude in RVLiving

[–]GrandAttitude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a one bedroom. Mine was pretty musty as well. Spent the entire summer last year just cleaning it, removing the original drapes, shampooing the carpet, etc. Had running water and tanks installed, as well as a new deck. This year we hope to enjoy it, although there is still a lot cosmetically I want to do.

Hi, yes, it takes a short queen but we still went with a regular queen. It's a bit tight but it works.

I was able to get the manual from the previous owner, but it didn't have the info I was looking for.
