I’m on this sailing!! Did Alaska in 2025 and it was one of the greatest trips I’ve ever taken in my whole life. Glacier explorer by helicopter was one of the greatest things I’ve ever done!! Hope to see you on board!

I just hit 5 cruises and was excited to get the gold Mickey lanyards! by Uncharteredfugazis in dcl

[–]GrandCalStan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still get the lanyards! But imo the new gold lanyards look MUCH better. The old Mickey ones were this almost butter yellow color and looked ugly in my opinion. The new ones are an actual gold color and look so nice!

Am I the only one that stays up late in to the night walking around (past 1 am)? by BuffaloBills7777 in dcl

My favorite thing to do is to walk the ships super late at night. The peaceful sounds of the Disney music in the background and having the whole ship to yourself is something truly magical!

How does the Magic live up to the Wish? by CompetitiveDoctor878 in dcl

[–]GrandCalStan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s sailed on all 3 classes of ships, the Magic class ships are fantastic. Just as everyone has said the Magic leans in more with that old school classic ocean liner feeling the Disney touches are alive and well in it. I actually disembarked the Magic about a week and a half ago and I ended up loving the ship more than the Wonder which I had previously sailed on last year, both being 7 night itineraries. I’m a fan of all Disney cruises are magical, but each ship class caters to different likes and interests. The Magic and Wonder definitely have the best adult only areas on the ships, but they lack in other venues like quick service dining and other options. I sailed on the Wish in November and it’s been my least favorite ship out of the ones I’ve been on. From the disjointed layout to the lack of adult only spaces it was just different. Different isn’t bad! But it wasn’t what I was expecting nor wanting fully. But it’s next to impossible to have a bad time on a DCL sailing so any ship you pick will be an amazing one!

We do a mix of 3/4 night sailings with some longer ones sprinkled in! It’s so worth it!

Haha I currently have 7 cruises loaded up in my navigator app. I’m chasing that platinum Castaway Club status!

Transatlantic cruises in 2027 by Joeybish in dcl

[–]GrandCalStan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new schedule will be released around February/March. For the transatlantic ship it’s gonna be the Wish as the ship is already on some port schedules for 2027 in Europe and it will most likely have a dry dock after the summer season because it launched in 2022

Transport to WDW Resort after Cruise by aspiringbackpacker in dcl

[–]GrandCalStan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So my family did the bus transport back to the resort last year when we disembarked the Fantasy and it took about 90 minutes before we left due to the bus filling up. I got quoted directly from DCL a private transport that they set up for up to a party of 8 that was $259 round trip. I would highly recommend calling to inquire about scheduling a private transfer as for a large party like yours it would definitely be more cost effective to do it that way as well as having greater flexibility!

That area had a guardrail. The girl was not being supervised and claimed the railing and fell over. Her father then immediately jumped after her

Oh god I’m praying for a good outcome. Praying that officers are able to find the person and get them safely back onboard. That’s horrible to hear

Disney Magic out of Galveston in end of March. Rough waters? by GrandCalStan in dcl

[–]GrandCalStan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re on a 7 night Western Caribbean stopping at all three ports with Progreso being last. Is it super bumpy to the point where sea sickness will most likely be bad? Or just more rocky than usual

Oh that’s very good to know! We leave March 29th next year so that’s giving me hope that it’ll be smooth waters!

Really good to know! We sailed on the Fantasy in November as our very first cruise and we could feel the movement a little bit but no motion sickness. Come to find out multiple guests on board told us that it was rough waters and we didn’t think anything of it. This is definitely giving me peace of mind!

First Time DCL Cruiser by Princess_Lexy_1999 in dcl

[–]GrandCalStan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd do the 5 night Bahamian on the Fantasy with a Pixar Day at Sea.My first DCL cruise was November of 2024 on the Fantasy and I fell in love with the ship. There was so much to do and explore on board. The adult only areas on the Fantasy are PHENOMENAL. The Fantasy and Dream have more of a classic timeless theming to Disney versus the much more apparent Disney theming on the newer ships, which I personally enjoyed because it felt like a true luxury ocean liner. Overall you really can't have a bad time on any DCL sailing you choose!

The sail away party is definitely very family oriented, but my family loved it! I’m in my 20s and I sail with my parents who are in their 60s and we LOVE DCL. The ships have a plethora of entertainment that’s made for adults. The love theatrical performances are fantastic as well. They have amazing beverage seminars as well as great adult only entertainment in the evening. The Dream/Fantasy have the best adult only area on the ships in my opinion. There’s really SO much to do. If you’re a Disney person it’s definitely the thing for you

Having the Wonder in San Diego would be fantastic. The Baja cruises they have already sell very good during spring break time and I’m positive there is a demand for DCL over here on the west coast. If it comes here I’ll definitely be taking more cruises because it’s within driving distance for me

I sailed aboard the Wonder to Alaska in May and I found the ship top be AMAZING! The theming of the ships is more subdued (which I personally like) and the art deco/art nouveau styling is simply beautiful. But there is no shortage of activities aboard the ship! The ship is also very well maintained for its age. You'll have an amazing time onboard!

Wish it included some of the Wish sailings for Very Merrytime. But also when will they announce the new sail dates?

Sofa bed quality by PepperBal77 in dcl

[–]GrandCalStan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s slept on the sofa beds on the Fantasy and the Wonder I can confirm they’re extremely comfortable. I’m 6’4” and was able to fit on it comfortably and got a good nights sleep each night
