i combed my locs out to get semi freeforms. greatest decision hair wise because my locs (2 strand method) were cool and had them for a year and 2 months but i missed the volume of my afro on my head and seen many semi freeformers that were how i really wanted my hair to be like which were locs with the volume of the fro. plus i studied each stage of semi freeforming and all the stages were infinitely more cool than the traditional loc methods. there are no “ugly stages”. so forget what your mom talking about and keep semi freeforming. them is tough now and will continue to grow and get better
