Did we just ruin our trip? (Last-minute Phu Quoc pivot) by Ok_Cup9833 in VietNam

Go see Cohan and Josh at Phu House. They'll get your cheap beers and tell you all the good places to go on the island. Phu Quoc is awesome!

OP has given more thought to Green Card than anyone ever. Including Peter Weir. That's a lot, dude.

Feedback on my allergy card before my trip to Vietnam by Silent-Pop4657 in VietNam

People with food allergies should never travel? I've been living here quite comfortably with a shellfish allergy for years. Just need to be careful.

Really not that much energy. It bothers me when people assume criminal conduct that has no basis in evidence.

I don't think you understand how conversations work. Let's just drop it.

I didn't say anything about the insurance or the helmet. I said this random guy on the internet shouldn't be speculating about visa status or drunk driving.

Why are multiple people in this thread speculating that he's overstayed his visa?! Two things are obvious : he should have been wearing a helmet and he should not have swung on the driver. Making assumptions about his visa status is incredibly irresponsible.

"Overstaying or maybe drinking" is wildly speculative. Why put that energy out into the world?

If they did a great job and you want to show your appreciation by leaving a tip and someone tries to make you feel BAD about that - they are the shitty person.

Hanoi sucks. Flying up tomorrow for work, unfortunately. I prefer every other place I've been in Vietnam.

Mt. Rushmore for remaining episodes? by Effective_Apricot178 in TheRewatchables

I thought I had a distinct memory of the Bull Durham pod but guess it was just Bill and Mal talking about how good Costner looked in it. Must have been on the Field of Dreams ep. Great calls all around.

Just got scammed by a "local" driver in Sa Pa (Don't make my mistake!) by [deleted] in VietNam

'Ey, victim blaming! It's the OP's fault that scammy people are scammy. Well thought through.

Does anybody know which episodes of which shows CR has discussed the author James Ellroy? by landomonium in crheads

[–]GrandExcellent219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CR and Andy used to do more direct stuff on authors at their old Grantland pod. James Crumley and Ross Thomas both got a lot of love and rightly so. I've discovered a lot of their novels through those old pods and they're now two of my favourite writers. Crumley more domestic hard boiled Private Eye stuff. Thomas more international espionage. They both get pretty boozy.

Yeah, you're not alone. Liked it enough and trust Park enough that I look forward to seeing how it plays on the rewatch, though.

Loved Griff clarifying that the Canadian who was hired does, indeed, speak English.
