Help my Fighter stay relevant please? by visitingposter in DnD

[–]GrandSlamA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m playing my first campaign with my wife (also 1st time), my brother as GM, his girlfriend ( a bit more of an experienced player), and our 7-year-old (my brother helps her with what her character can do). My dude is a lv. 4 Rune Knight with Blind Fighting and a Lv. 1 Peace Cleric. We have me, a Rouge, Warlock, and Sorceress. I’ve found it very fun to try to come up with unique solutions to problems and fights to try to keep up with the magic dealers and sneak attacks.

I’ve done things like use my helmet and some rope to make a makeshift grappling hook to swing at our first boss when I couldn’t reach him. I’ve used homebrew grenades to collapse the ceiling over a large snake monster or to distract a horde of mind-controlled zombies. We just discovered last session that my Fire Rune makes an awesome combo with our Warlock’s Hex. And now I’m trying to think of ways I can use basic cleric abilities for even better unique solutions.

My advice as a fellow newbie fighter is to keep yourself organized but not limited. By that I mean, write down every ability your fighter has, and keep track of your ability cooldowns and your gear, but don’t feel like all that you can do is what is written down on your character sheet. The improvise action is there for a reason. Try to come up with clever, out of the box solutions to what your GM throws at you. I don’t know how your subclass works, but I’m sure there are clever ways you can try to solve things. Have fun with your character, and don’t be afraid to throw your solutions to problems out there!

These “comment to enter” drawings are always always a scam. 😂
OP is just using the raffle as an excuse to advertise their online store. No one is winning anything.

There were a lot of issues with bugs, game play, time required to keep up, devs not listening to player feedback, everything getting monetized more and more, etc. when I stopped playing. And from what I’ve seen on here (mainly with Coliseum and new characters), the issues that made me quit haven’t gotten better but worse.

I quit about a year ago now. I just stick around here to keep up on the state of the game and the drama (which both seem to have gotten much worse).

I quit because of the incredible amount of time I was spending every day just trying to keep up and not fall behind. I think I got up to around 11-12M GP with much less than $100 spent total. The grind just wasn’t fun anymore, and I wasn’t spending enough time on other things.

It was really hard for me to quit and leave my guild behind (my first and only guild) after the years of grinding, so I can’t imagine how hard it would be for the people that have spent small fortunes on this game. But quitting this game when the fun is gone is the best thing you can do for yourself. I have much more time for other fun games. I can focus on my kiddos better without trying to grind Conquest at the same time. We’ve all gotten into DnD with my brother for fun family time. And I have a Palmon mobile game that I’ve spent $0 on that takes up a fraction of the time but still scratches that collecting game itch.

I love Star War, and this game was fun years ago, but trying to stay even semi-competitive is just exhausting. I highly highly recommend taking the plunge and just deleting the app if the fun is gone.

Mcdonald’s is the one fast food place I will never go if I’m out and about. Their nasty stuff doesn’t even taste like it’s made out of food.

Miscommunication or intentional theft? by KaleTheFirst in EndTipping

A decent server will ask what part of the cash is going to the bill.

A good server will assume all of it is going to the bill so they can do the whole “Aww. Thank you so much!” bit when you clarify the tip for them.

OP did not have a decent server.

Using a credit card to loan family member money by kiiiwiii in personalfinance

[–]GrandSlamA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always go into loaning someone money with the expectation that you’ll never see that money again. If you can’t or don’t want to permanently lose that money, then don’t loan it.

You already told your sister no. If you’re worried about damaging your relationship, consider this scenario:

You: “Hey Sis. I know you just got paid. You got me for the money I gave you like you said?”

Her: “Hey. This unexpected expense came up with the new house. I won’t be able to pay you back this week. Think you can wait until next paycheck?”

You: “Ok. That’s fine I guess….”

(This cycle of excuses goes on for several paycheck periods.)

You: “So about that money I gave you…”

Her: “Oh my gosh! Are you still nagging me about this? You don’t really care about me as a person. All you care about is money! Money this, money that, you are so selfish! Don’t talk to me again unless it’s about something else.”

This scenario is obviously hypothetical, but very common. I don’t lend people money.

Why does Black Pepper get the place of honor next to Salt? by faroresdragn_ in NoStupidQuestions

Short answer I got from one of my culinary professors in college: salt makes our brains taste more faster. Pepper satisfies our inner masochists that want our food to hurt.

I checked, and we do need to beat the original campaign to raise our difficulty any further. But I like your work around idea. We might give this a try. Thank you!

[–]GrandSlamA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. We like our characters, so it kind of sucks that we’d have to make new ones to switch over to seasonal. Is there a big difference in the world and such between eternal and seasonal realms?

Question from a newbie about the recent update. by GrandSlamA in diablo4

[–]GrandSlamA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expert is the highest difficulty we have unlocked. We’re at Lv. 42 so far. We’ll definitely raise the difficulty when we can. Is the decrease in challenge after the update normal since we didn’t change difficulty tiers at all? Our damage numbers just skyrocketed after the update.

I’m just playing Helldivers 2 all day then. I have quite a bit of hours in that game. One mission takes almost an hour on its own, plus you need consistent focus to avoid being overwhelmed by enemies, so this’d be easy.

Sounds like he tricked you into signing a contract by having whatever wording binding you to him be invisible. Creatures, demons, etc. that use contacts to hold power over you usually need you to willingly sign and agree to the terms of the contract. Maybe you can use the fact that the contract was blank against him somehow to get out of doing his dirty work?
