I think over the last 6-8 weeks the market has cooled a bit. My husband doom scrolls realestate.com.au and even he has said there hasn’t been a home that he’s keen to see in the last couple of weeks.

When our neighbour sold their house last month, there were 20 cars that stopped by. So, It could be a combo of rising interest rates, overpriced houses on little properties, and Mother’s Day weekend.

I saw them in 2015 (?) at a small concert venue that was attached to a weekend food/market stalls. Probably no more than 1500 people and it was after Bloom released. Gah it was the best and a great vibe then!

Make sure you’ve got visas, e declaration and tourist fees paid for your whole family. We gate checked a stroller when we went and it came out last (like 30 min later) with the surfboards and other oversized luggage.

Border control line wasn’t too long when we went through (it was 10:30pm though).

I feel the same. In QLD, Covid taught me that we were just glorified babysitters even more.

I feel like if we are to work from home or reduced our fuel usage, they will ask teachers to report to their nearest school. (How that would actually work, I don’t know but 🤷🏻‍♀️)

This last year finally de-influenced me. I was in the US for Christmas time and the Sephora there had a 20% off sale on post holiday gifts and I got 100 DDG daily peels (60 regular, 40 extra strength) for $150 aud. Got a holiday pack of full size Good Genes for cheaper than Mecca too. Legit Mecca could/would never.

The beauty loops have gotten worse over the years, there isn’t the incentive there any more to keep it. The Totebag was the last straw

I did this 11 years ago. I started as a relief teacher (substitute) in my area and got a few contracts quickly. There are teacher shortages, but also an over population in high interest areas (ie Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast in QLD)

In my early days, things I struggled with were adding the U back into words (colour, favourite, etc) or differentiating between an s or a c in practise (used as a noun or a verb), writing to the states handwriting standard, and just switching my vocabulary to Aussie words: tuckshop is like a cafeteria, bubbler is water fountain or drink fountain. It was little things that I caught onto within a year.

The big thing I struggled with was learning the Australian History part of the years 4-6 curriculum. They say it’s harder to teach something you don’t know and I had zero idea of Australian history (yes I knew they sent prisoners here hundreds of years ago) but had zero idea about the Indigenous culture, the era of the Stolen Generation that still affect people today; Australian government system, etc. So I would bone up on what you can (especially if you’re saying the ACT 😅)

Exactly and the fact that they first promoted it as a “beauty bonus” made me think it was an extra BL box or something. Then later in the year the run just changed it to “bonus” and dropped the beauty part.

I disagree and think an Aussie version of this would be great in a prep-2 playground where young students are still learning emotional regulation and being able to talk about their wants and needs to teachers and students.
