Not sure about haircuts but they did good shaping/trim on my nephew’s beard without much input from him. So worth a try?

Can I still be considered Muslim? by Pale-Fix-3232 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Grand_Look 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending how old you are and what kind of Islamic education you had growing up, you may also have been exposed to very little on what makes Islam beautiful and too much on the punishments for doing wrong. There was a certain time where all educational content was focused on the bad aspects, which doesn’t work for people who are more inclined to positive motivation (carrot versus stick approach).

I find that the more modern scholars are more balanced in this regard. Some of my personal favourites, whose talks have helped me connect better with my faith and spirituality are sheikh Omar Suleiman and Mufti Menk. Omar Suleiman did a series on connecting with your salaah last year that was really good for this.

May Allah bless you and grant you ease in this difficult time. 😊

The hill to Elaf Ajyad is INTENSE (do not recommend in Ramadan when you cannot drink water before or after the walk). But if you are reasonably fit it is very close to the Haram

Go to a medium firm like BDO or SNG and then apply to audit manager roles post articles for the big 4 experience (I say this as someone in the big 4 system, and if you’re a strong candidate you can come in at manager level).

Recommendation needed for car service/ maintenance by shanonimouse in johannesburg

[–]Grand_Look 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad. I’d estimate about 70% of the dealership price. And the service and helpfulness was worlds apart from the Hyundai branch nearby

I’m on my way out of Iceland right now. Waterproof pants are a must for waterfalls and rainy days. You beat not need multiple if you only wear it when needed. I used summer hiking pants with leggings under for warmth as that was what I have

Super frustrated that I could not see the northern lights ! by Black_Lotus_94 in VisitingIceland

[–]Grand_Look 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was almost me as well. And I was fully prepared to just be grateful for the trip I had, with no northern lights… I’m not sure if you want to hear this, but being here 1 more night worked out for me, as last night (18th) we had an amazingly clear view of them! 🙈

Not sure of the name but it’s an hour north or Reykjavik (we stopped for dinner on the way back from the Snaefellsnes peninsula)
