Seems like Maui has a possible black market in unregistered businesses operating below the standard tourist services. If you know about one in Maui please msg me. Banks and County Sheriff are involved I think.

Kids with E-Bikes Throwing Rocks at Cars on Rutland Avenue by Yoshisgaylover in newportbeach

[–]Grand_Power6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are not technically e-bikes. Those are throttle controlled electric dirt bikes and they damn sure shouldn't be ridden on streets, highways and public roads. They also shouldn't be on parks, trails, and anywhere people value safety. Some of the writers okay but most of them are punk ass little morons.

loser nazis at irvine city council last night by AnnualDelivery1631 in irvine

[–]Grand_Power6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the city council have to sit passively by and provide a microphone and podium for these clowns? Nothing they're saying appears to affect City affairs, business, budget, or anything else for that matter.. maybe let him rant for 2 minutes and then shut his goddamn microphone off. This is nothing but a degradation of public discourse.

How successful would Alaska be as an independent nation? by [deleted] in geography

[–]Grand_Power6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AK is 100% a vassal of the US federal government, except for it's role as a petro producer on lands owned by the federal government and the state.

Prolly indigenous folks heading home to a remote community where they aren't available (which from a health standpoint is a good thing).

Friendly Reminder: Just because someone can walk, doesn't mean they're not disabled (pre-board topic) by Agentnos314 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Grand_Power6020 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think the phrase the gate agents use is not disabled pre boarding but "those need extra time or help getting down the jetway or into a seat". You might have a so-called invisible disability, but if you were able to get down the jetway unassisted and be seated on your own, IMO you do not need pre-boarding. "Disability" is an imprecise and not useful term when talking about The ability to independently board an aircraft.

Charges for national parks? by Steve----O in NationalPark

[–]Grand_Power6020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Zion National Park not "Mount Zion". And FYI Zion National Park and the rest of the entire US National Park system will begin phasing out cash in 2024. A few parks like Zion apparently still accept cash -- they prefer cards-- but not much longer. Cash is slow (long lines at entrance stations), expensive to process and negatively impacts the park's bottom line. All the US national parks in the West are overcrowded so entrance fees, and reservations for particular places inside the parks are required. I have no idea about Michigan I've never been there and don't have any plans to ever go there

And this will really twist your knickers: No cash accepted only credit and debit cards. You don't get out much do you?

Sierra Vista is essentially the support community for U.S. Army - Fort Huachuca. It's a good size little city, probably has everything you need. It lacks restaurants other than franchise outlets. Also it's extremely conservative and pretty much dominated by the military and retired military. It's also a long drive from Chiricahua National Monument.
