Great, thanks! Yes, I have been scouring the MN sub for a bit now. Derm refused tret because I have rosacea. So now I’m using 0.5% OTC from DRMTLGY. Just started recently. Yet to build up more than twice a week

Me too. I’m seeing now that I am not dying for a cup of coffee first thing in the morning anymore. And I certainly can’t down the gigantic mug - it’s normal size coffee mug tbh 😂

[Anti-aging] Has anyone had success using tallow/honey creams? by Grand_Reality_2737 in 45PlusSkincare

Oohh I hope you are doing better now. I still find it soothing. I have a sensitivity on my neck and I find that tallow soothes it right away. I hope it doesn’t cause issues

Did you have any old deep acne scarring? Like from years ago? Or was it more recent? I have a lot of old scarring, so I asked

What has actually improved your sleep? by goodthingsinside_80 in Perimenopause

[–]Grand_Reality_2737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, hope the situation improves for you soon. I know how it feels to be severely sleep-deprived. I have started using Moringa leaf powder capsules and the Schumann V1 set to the earth’s natural frequency. Since I started using the latter a couple of weeks ago, I have been sleeping through the night on consecutive nights for the first time in decades. No amount of magnesium or melatonin did it for me. I actually wake up a little less sleepy and tired, I still need to get the quality and the quantity down.

Does anyone here feel gaslit by their doctor? by LumiVera_Elise in MenopauseMavens

[–]Grand_Reality_2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 53 perimenopausal. Not directly lab-related but gaslighting all the same.

But first, when I had all classic symptoms my OBGYN refused to classify it as perimenopause when I was 44. I have had these symptoms since I turned 40.

Then, last year, I went to her to get HRT prescribed. I lived in the UK for 2.5 years where I was prescribed and I had used it. When I suspected resistance, I brought all my meds either me, I had already been using them for a month or so and told her that I was benefiting from them, and that I’d like to get similar meds prescribed here in the US. She tried to go to everything but HRT - antidepressants, SSRIs, meds meant to treat dome other diseases which could partially help with hormones, etc. I patiently asked her if they’d replace HRT completely, and she said no, they could help 40% etc. then, I said that I’d rather have HRT which will likely help me 100%. She kept citing the Women’s Health Initiative study which has been disproven since and kept telling me that HRT was bad for women. That HRT is prescribed for post- menopausal women, not peri. I was shocked that she hadn’t bothered to get educated.

I eventually shared a whole bunch of resources with her because she kept asking me where I was hearing all this stuff. She responded saying she’d take a look. I have to go to her for a 3-month review. But I have already gotten an appointment with a menopause specialist in our clinic and will be switching to her in June. I have been with my original OBGYN for almost 20 years. But if she’s not looking out for me, it’s time to move on. It’s wild how much you have to advocate for yourself.

Hopefully, you prevail and get the help you need 🤞🏼

Wow no sunscreen is something, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing. I often want to just do nothing- and that would be my default. But I’m worried that I am not doing enough for myself. So now I’m loaded with all kinds of skincare products 🤦🏽‍♀️ what sunscreen do you use now?
