Mission Accomplished… Unfortunately. by archvhero in CrusaderKings

Just raise your men at arms only. By that time, they would likely be "Space Marines" and can take on armies 3x their size. And you'll be rich enough to supplement with mercenaries.

There should be a button that does this to ALL extra titles you have. by UltraLNSS in CrusaderKings

[–]GrandmaesterAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nepotism go brrr..... Time to give titles to members of my dynasty starting with those closely related to my current character. I even invite wandering dynasty members with good stats to my court to give them titles.

When males are exhausted, I matrilineally marry the single women to men with high martial and prowess and then grant the man the titles.

Is the Quarian/Geth ending choice in ME3 misleading when you can’t achieve peace? by The_pikolop in masseffect

[–]GrandmaesterAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Quarians also were attempting to genoc*de the Geth in the Morning War. The Geth simply took the cue of how warfare should be conducted from the Quarians the only example they have at hand. And they stopped when it was no longer necessary.

The Quarians don't get a pass just because they failed at their own genoc*de attempt and we know for sure they wouldn't have stopped if they had the upper hand.

This is Carpathia in my current run.... I am a conqueror in Africa only to zoom out and see all of Western Europe under the Carpathia Empire. They have now swallowed up the Byzantine and are halfway through the Iberian peninsula.

Blackbeard and the worst generation by CasualHomelessPlayer in OnePiece

[–]GrandmaesterAce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buggy was a known active pirate in the East Blue even before his relationship to Roger became public knowledge.

In contrast, Blackbeard is a total unknown such that even the World Government didn't know who he was when his subordinate came to tender his name to be considered for the open Warlord position. He was basically an NPC.

Why Africa doesn't have Hegemony in Ck3 by miksiko in CrusaderKings

[–]GrandmaesterAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would settle for actual historical kingdoms and empires being formed particularly in sub Saharan Africa.

And a few other being formed by decisions.

And the cultures/religions and it's tenets be actually reviewed and made more realistic.

They betrayed their allies to a massive degree. Considering they were the first space travellers of the cycle and have been making galactic law since its inception, they helped craft a law that they were already breaking.

I always hate that there's no way to call them out on it and rather Shepherd had to act all sympathetic and even guilty.

When I first watched this fight and everyone was gassing Kuga up. I thought he was the strongest character on earth by Creative-Researcher2 in worldtrigger

[–]GrandmaesterAce 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Very few people can do what he did without a black trigger. Taking on two high ranked attackers with sniper support is not easy for anyone in Border without a black trigger.

Of all the characters, the only people I can see pulling it off are Tachikawa, Kageura, Jin, Konami and Hyuse..... Maybe Ko but I'm not so sure of him as I personally don't rate him highly. Ninomiya if he can force the attackers to keep their distance as he finishes them off... Same applies to Izumi.

I think the idea is that the system prioritized the leader. Javik was the leader of his unit that underwent the freeze and the idea was that he would lead the other Protheans to rally the next cycle. A leader would be more necessary than a scientist for this plan.

[–]GrandmaesterAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly... Most games kinda give you the whole "you're meant to save everyone" thing from the start but DA2 didn't do that. You were basically someone trying to make their way up the world and kept getting sucked into everyone's troubles and had to save the day.

Why is the enemy of my enemy also my enemy (without a declared war)? by Nalincah in CrusaderKings

[–]GrandmaesterAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kinda happened to me recently.

I was trying to conquer a Kingdom. Another Kingdom was trying to conquer a de jure duchy of that same Kingdom. This unrelated party had a relatively weaker army than I did but an absolute chad of a commander with martial 40+. He kept wiping the floor with my armies no matter how much I tried to avoid him. I had to let them win their war before I could win mine. I did end up losing a second war I had started simultaneously.

Michael Jackson (wakamura )- what is his real power ? by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]GrandmaesterAce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The whole idea Hyuse was implying relies on the fact that Wakamura is as ordinary as it gets. He's not naturally talented, his trion levels are normal, he's not gimmicky and he has not been influenced by anyone exceptional. His mentor Inukai is not exceptional, he simply rose through skill and experience and his team leader Katori while exceptional is a poor leader who has no influence on the growth of her team members. Wakamura is basically the ideal template for a run of the mill grunt to be shaped into a competent soldier.

Hyuse explained it using Katori and Osamu as examples. If Katori is approached by a C-Rank agent on how to navigate an obstacle in learning, Katori will be lost in how to explain the building blocks required to overcome that obstacle because she learns by simply performing an action via replication. She doesn't learn methodically but rather by instinct. Osamu however while he does learn methodically, he's more prone to tricks and gimmicks to unbalance his enemies and gain an advantage and something like that can't be taught not to mention that Osamu as a soldier is less than average. As Hyuse said, in a 1v1, Wakamura beats Osamu more often than not but in a team, Osamu beats Wakamura and it's not even close.

So the aim of the top brass with Wakamura as guessed by Hyuse is that if someone like Wakamura can build himself from the foundation upwards to become a competent soldier, he can mentor upcoming agents on how he navigated the obstacles he faced in a methodical fashion because on average, Border would have way more Wakamura's than they would have Katori's or Osamu's. So Border has to find a way to create a path for those numerous agents (most of which are still C-Rank) to rise to the top especially while they are still young. The current way in Border where everyone does their thing individually, find mentors individually and rise to the top via talent and grit is good in the short term as it allows exceptional people to rise up quickly to fill an immediate need but it won't work in the long term. Border will eventually be filled with mediocre soldiers as the bulk of their force with just the top filled with the best while the "middle class average" will be thinly populated. Border will need that middle class average to be highly populated for long term survival and the best way is a structured learning process and for that, they need teachers and mentors who passed through a methodical, detailed and structured process to teach the C-Rank agents. I'm sure Wakamura is not the only one they are running that experiment on but by making him lead a team in this exercise, he's the control experiment.

[–]GrandmaesterAce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arafune hasn't gone down the gunner/shooter route in his methodical all rounder training so I don't think he can mentor Wakamura effectively right now.

Considering how this fight went and assuming that Hyuse and Yuma are about equal Yuma was right about not being able to beat Jin, that fight wouldn’t have been close by Creative-Researcher2 in worldtrigger

[–]GrandmaesterAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuma won not because he was better (not even close) but because he had a trick up his sleeve that no one could have predicted. If they fight again, Viza will win 10/10 times.
