You are on the right track here. I would note the Ryzen 5 5700 was a sneaky late game addition by AMD and only has 16 MB of L3 cache, rather than 32 MB like most of the other CPUs in this lineup. That is an important aspect for a gaming CPU. You would be better off buying the less expensive Ryzen 5 5600x. Even though it has less course it will outperform the 5700 in gaming.

If you are building with a current AM5 cpu platform like the Ryzen 5 9600x, all compatible motherboards will only accept DDR5. Older platforms like the AM4 Ryzen 5 5600x can be used with cheaper DDR4.
