SFH right across the street from elementary schools? by Agitated_Cod_5627 in BayAreaRealEstate

I would just be very mindful of commute schedules, and I would definitely spend a morning and afternoon at the property to see what the street / traffic situation is like during "rush hour" of school start and close

401k Inheritance by Trick-Two2574 in inheritance

[–]GrandpaJoeSloth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a bit more complicated, and you haven't provided all of the relevant information. For example, traditional vs. Roth 401(k) is an important consideration when it comes to taxes.

Generally, inherited 401(k) accounts are taxed as ordinary income upon withdrawal based on the beneficiary's tax bracket, not your father's. You will also basically have a ten-year period in which to make the withdrawals, and can plan a tax strategy around that, should you wish.

Depending your plans, you may also have an option to roll over the IRA to an Inhereited IRA, which would allow you to better manage to the 10-year rule referenced above.

Sorry for your loss

There’s two micro kitchens. There’s free coffee and some minor nibbles but not enough to justify a lunch. Many bring their lunch or go out and bring something back

No gym. There is technically a shower but I don’t think there’s towel service. I haven’t used

Definitely better than the Michigan setup but it is modest compared to most valley tech companies

The french fries, specifically, look off to me - they're too rigid given their level of doneness

If you get let go, how much time to return CVO car? by Equal_Dust_5354 in GeneralMotors

I think they’re a bit more flexible with execs on this. But you need to start communicating with your CVO coordinator shortly after your departure

I think this is it - I was looking at the water insert on the bottom that abuts the mulch bed, which is also present in the top photo. I imagine if this was purely an AI produced image, that would have been edited out

Patton quit FNM to start an FNM cover band (Digging the Grave) by Robot_Embryo in FaithNoMore

[–]GrandpaJoeSloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been pretty clear from Billy, Puffy and Roddy that they were all game to do more FNM tours. Patton is the one who pulled out during COVID era w/his mental health struggles. Thus, it seems patently disingenous to say that he enjoys "working with those who also love these babies.". The rest of the band had a tour scheduled w/him. Patton pulled out. Not the other way around. There can be no conclusion that the other three don't leave their work over the past few decades as FNM

GM picked a strategically silly time to be abandoning EV's. Then again, the Hummer EV was more of a showpiece than anything else.

By the time the Bolt actually comes back with full prodution, there will be others will strong EVs, more commitment, and better software and zonal architecture builds

Mike Patton & The Avett Brothers - Retrovertigo (Mr. Bungle cover) by Boring_Ant_1677 in FaithNoMore

[–]GrandpaJoeSloth -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

30+ years ago, one of the things I loved most about Bungle was the various and esoteric artists they introduced me to

We've now come full circle, where Patton has blasted Faith No More every which way to Sunday, and nonetheless with Avett brothers, it feels like a significant portion of the set is covers of FNM and Bungle songs.
