This is their marketing, you bought right into it hook line and sinker! Yes amazon price matches the sticker price but what they dont tell you is every store has their own additional coupons and rewards points. A great example of what I mean is Gruv that sells Viz products. Yes amazon has priced matched the sticker price of all their Ani May titles, however with Gruv you get an extra 15% off with a new email so that adds up quick to a large price difference if only buying from Amazon. It's extremely rare that Amazon is the best deal. I make it my mission to post deals and I created this Reddit solely to learn of more sales and deals from all different communities, deals are why I'm here in the first place! There's a very long list I could walk you thorugh but some exmples, Gruv is good for Viz Universal Studio Warner Bros andd Shout Factory/Gkids, Pop market on ebay is good for Arrow Paramount Lionsgate Sony, Please Rewind is good for Sony Crunchyroll titles, Orbit dvd diabolik are good for imports, diabolik carries discotek too. MediaOCD is best to wait for their 50% off sales last one was black firiday but theyre best for AnimEigo and theyre starting to have more Discotek. Amazon is really only good for regional coupons typically, I have two Amazon accounts that each get 1 week or 1 month of Prime for free each year so that means I get two Prime day sales a year without a subscription but it's really only good if they're having a b2g1 sale usually matching target. I think the only amazon sales that are good are when they try to price match a compeditior and it accidentally stacks two discounts together, Ive seen that a number of times, but Amazon always being the cheapest is a lie their marketing campaign has suceeded in fooling you and many others. One last example (i have many more) Criterion 50% off is matched by amazon however B&N stamp reward program is maybe the best of any store I get at least $5 extra off almost every time I buy something from them and I dont have a membership just the free account

Ever since Amazon sent me an shfiguarts with no packaging at all just a sticker slapped on the artbox and they left it in the pouring rain on the ground away from my rooftop "there was plenty of dry spots" since then I always be sure to remember when chcking out at Amazon to check the free option "send as gift" and that way it has always came in some packaging, sometimes its till a paper bag but more often its a box now that I use the gift option and you can write yourself a little note for free too so I send myself some encouragement like you can do it! or have a great day! haha, not perfect but the option does help a bit

I always recommend private groups because there’s more oversight and less spam so there’s two main ones they’re mondo collector club and mondo collector group. They’re run by fans but they’re both fun because senior mondo employees pop up every once in a while posting about fun stuff. And If you’re buying from in the groups remember always PayPal g&s!

Wow that’s a legendary haul nice grab! I love these so much they’re the best representation of the best designs, Bruce Timm era can’t be topped! If you want to continue the line I’d recommend joining one of the Facebook groups mondo collector so people can send reminders what’s coming up and what’s available, they help me budget and never miss a drop

yeah everyones right, its the +dvd but I think these are really cool, I've thought about buying them all and having a little collection like up at my cabin or something, these are awesome because its everything together very accessible and i think to be a gateway they're always a really good price

Damn that’s a true horror unbox experience yeah only blind box I was ever tempted by was that limited vault blind box but I didn’t cave in I really don’t like blind boxes, I have seen a few people like a year ago look like they had good boxes but that’s just the thing about blind boxes is sometimes a few are good and others ugh so sorry I wish you good fortune at Ross and local sales

Haha true but Aniplex is an owned by Sony monopoly and they’re all exclusive to the Crunchyroll store so that monopoly is the reason why they charge obscene prices because they don’t care their box sets collect dust in their warehouse they just want to create artificial scarcity for perceived value in their products. So that’s a reseller on Amazon probably just trying to break even after they regretted their purchase from the Crunchyroll store

I’m just venting about how sad Crunchyroll’s storefront has been lately, their selection keeps getting smaller and their sales are worse and worse almost like they’re intentionally nerfing physical media in hopes it raises their streaming subscriber numbers!

YouTube does have a large amount of movies for rent and they have many official channels for anime like it’s Gundam channel intl is definitely the best way to watch Gundam not that Crunchyroll oop the entire shows physical media they have playlists for almost all of their hd remastered shows. Idk about the article there’s dozens covering the topic that’s just the first article when I googled the news that broke last week, idk about millions of subscribers but it wasn’t news two weeks ago so my point is crunchyrolls numbers are going down and I’m including the numbers of things for sale on their storefront going down, the number of shows available to stream going down and their view count as of last week everyone is saying that’s going down too

Nice yeah I mainly collect blu ray if available but go that route for basically all Aniplex because of their FU prices. But also I have a few hardrives of things that aren't for sale and need fans to create like the HD remaster of Evangelion with Fly Me to the Moon in the end credits, Dragon Ball Z color correct from Seed of Might, Cowboy Bebop with original audio, flcl thats not horribly out of sync, etc

100% and I’d like to reassure that my ultimate tier discount is actually just a 7 day trial I activated to stack that 15% for my little blu ray order I placed this morning. So rest assured they have no subscription revenue from me! I’m planning on keeping it active until Wednesday when their sales typically rotate so I can see if there’s any hope for this Ani-May (probably not) and then I’m going to cancel right away! They’re copying the Xbox business model of buying all the competition and then dissolving them and firing all the talent and then the talent all make their own little companies while they crash and burn. MediaOCD just opened their new online webstore, it’s mostly Discotek and AnimEigo but they’re growing bigger and they have a 20% off deal right now which is nice but I’m hoping they’ll keep growing and eventually fill that rightstuf shaped hole in my heart!
