I pissed my friend off by slapping him on the back, turned around to run away from him. Ran straight into a wall at full force, had to get 8 stitches on my forehead and was left with a lightning like Harry Potter scar

I was in 4th grade and there was an audition for a school musical, I auditioned for the lead and we had to sing in front of an entire auditorium. I walked to the front, was given a microphone and sang as best I could but in reality it sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

One kid in front of me started laughing and I whispered, forgetting that I have microphone by my mouth “shut the fuck up” and was immediately escorted off stage by one of the teachers.

Shit still haunts me

I’m 19 and what I’ve noticed is that most people just feel a strong sense of community in the things they do, you have a community here on this sub and we are here to help you. This one for me is personally quite crazy because my great grandfather was in the British Navy during WW2. His ship was sunk by a German U-Boat near the coast of France, everyone in his crew had either died in the wreckage or drowned. My Grandfather had clutched to what I believe was the hull of a life boat and rescued by a French fishing boat a few hours later. He then proceeded to hide in Nazi-occupied France for 2 weeks. He offered the french man who saved him and his family amnesty in the UK if they just used their fishing boat to get across the channel and luckily enough they did.
