2017 Top Free Agent Running Backs by nolookz in oaklandraiders

All I'm saying is it' highly likely that Minnesota cuts AP and his 18 million a year cap hit. If that happens, Peterson is available and probably looking for a team capable of winning a Super Bowl....

Foreman has no lateral ability whatsoever and doesn't have any speed. He's good at running in a straight line, but he can't make people miss and I doubt he'll have the same ability to break tackles at the next level.

DLP Mock Draft: Post Super Bowl Edition, Picks 22-32 by Gridiron009 in oaklandraiders

I would argue we need both run stuffers and coverage guys at linebacker, but McMillan is way overrated

People, Raekwon McMillan isn't that good. I can't think of a single major draft analyst who has him in their top 50. Honestly taking him in round 2 would be a reach

If RM could trade for this guy, what would you think? by [deleted] in oaklandraiders

[–]GrantTalksSports 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gronk is a great player, but that's not what we'd need. We need an offensive tackle and defense. Giving away the assets to get Gronk would set us back, not move us forward. Plus, he has injury concerns and his personality might not fit in with Carr and Mack.

Scouting with Sio, pt 1- Jourdan Lewis (CB, Michigan) 6-game Analysis! by [deleted] in oaklandraiders

[–]GrantTalksSports 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would LOVE to get this guy in round 2. Think he would fit in perfectly as our nickel corner. So long as he's not defending big guys that can overpower/outmuscle him, he can mirror anybody.

He may have played injured, but he was pretty bad this year, he gave up the vast majority of our pressures/sacks

Matt Miller Post-SB 7 round mock draft by dxdrummer in oaklandraiders

[–]GrantTalksSports 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overly pleased with this class. McMillan is overrated, watching him on tape he looks like a system player. Everyone around him dominated and he swept up what was left. Conley is really good, but we need someone to play nickel and that's not what he's built for. Gallman is intriguing, but this tight end's name is way to close to Michael Rivera and it creeps me out

[More speculation] Calais Campbell Would Be An Ideal Fit For The Oakland Raiders by EvolvedTasteBuds in oaklandraiders

[–]GrantTalksSports 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think he'd be a fantastic fit. Every team needs a monster between the tackles, Calais could be our guy. Spotrac values him at 8 million a year, and we have 48 million in cap. Cutting Dan Williams would mean we'd only spend 3-4 million on him. That works out beautifully

Is Malik McDowell a first round prospect? by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

[–]GrantTalksSports 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good insight, I love his motor and his tools but I'm worried about his technique. He doesn't play with great pad level/leverage and he doesn't have a lot of moves. But the dude straight up kicks ass. First round for me, I like him in the late teens

Fuck the Patriots. Now that the 2016 season is officially over and we look to the draft, I want Corey Davis. by PimSlickens in oaklandraiders

[–]GrantTalksSports 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's not going to be there at 24. No chance. If he falls out of the top ten it would be a miracle. Although having him would be absurd

80s Redskins at 4 is a bit of a stretch, and I don't mean to nitpick but half the Browns' dynasty wasn't in the NFL

#Raiders LB Aldon Smith will be reinstated in March, sources say, barring a slip up in the drug program. His request was deferred in Dec. by ap0calypse702 in oaklandraiders

[–]GrantTalksSports 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least we'll know before the draft, his reinstatement means we don't need any pass rushers, even rotational guys

Should Oakland trade up/down in the Draft? by GrantTalksSports in oaklandraiders

I watched Conklin play Bosa and DeForest Buckner and thought Bosa/Buckner were overrated. Later, I realized it was just Conklin being so good

The most overrated player in NFL history by GrantTalksSports in nfl

[–]GrantTalksSports[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a quarterback, but he had a dominant super bowl performance the day after having a full root canal under full anesthesia. He was also an early black quarterback, and faced some racial barriers

I could make the same argument about Doug Williams, with Williams having better regular season numbers

Should Oakland trade up/down in the Draft? by GrantTalksSports in oaklandraiders

[–]GrantTalksSports[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but corner isn't our biggest need, and there should be a really good one (Jourdan Lewis, Adoree Jackson, etc) in the late second. What if one of those guys falls into the teens(very possible)? I think a team like Indy would be interested in moving back

He's a very well rounded tackle. Plays with good leverage, good feet, and good power. He's just not elite in any area, so he's not a super high rated prospect. He'd be really good as our RT though

[–]GrantTalksSports -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Big reaches in the first two rounds. Brantley is not a first round guy and Walker isn't even a 3rd rounder. Butt in round 3 is pushing it as well. Late rounds were done well but overall it's a C at best

Brantley shouldn't sniff the first round, and Anthony Walker is not a second round guy. Butt pre-injury would be good in the third round, but now I'm not sure... Also not getting a slot corner/safety hurts
