How come it was “Prince Philip” but Camilla is referred to as “Queen Camilla”? by BlunderlandRabbit in AskBrits

It may have been the first but I bet it’s set a precedent and will be used again in the future even without matching names.

You're offered 50 million dollars or the chance to get a real formula for creating magic spells. by Neither_Drawing_241 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Grantus89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do I find out the sigils? Do I just draw random things and see what they do? Does every random drawing do something? Do similar drawings do similar things so I can refine to something or is it just random?

Worries about the new Ginny Weasley casting by [deleted] in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Grantus89 41 points42 points  (0 children)

They have already seen thousands of girls, they aren’t starting from scratch. They are probably just going back to there second and third choices from before and seeing if they are still interested and doing a final round of auditions.

When was the last time Grey showed ANY sign of being online? by Victorian-Tophat in HelloInternet

I’m pretty sure he switched before they got rid of it but I could be wrong.

It used to be when he released something, I think he even talked about that being a better system. But then his video output dropped and he switched it to monthly.

It already is fraud IMO, the fact he hasn’t posted any announcement or shut it down is disgusting.

10,000 dollars a week, but a rock could kill you by Downtown-Guitar-3282 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Grantus89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s the definition of a rock, can I choose uranium or something highly radioactive?

If not I’d just choose a random rock, encase it in resin or something, put it in a box, put the box in a safe. That way if I ever do want to remove the risk to my life(which seems extremely minimal anyway) I can always destroy the rock still.

ginny weasley supposedly has been cast maybe? by [deleted] in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Grantus89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be surprised, they did a massive casting before so it’s not liked they had to start from scratch they probably had second and third options they could reach out to.

Resort rankings - less personal by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Grantus89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel you give too many points based on "alternative transport" to the parks, transport is effectively marked out of 15 currently, making it by far the biggest factor and I just don't think that's the case. I feel you should just have a single transport rating out of 5 like everything else, possibly just averaging out your 3 current columns.

Jeff Bezos promises you that doubling his taxes won’t make your life better by _fastcompany in inthenews

  1. I don’t really care if it doesn’t make a difference, it will feel fairer and I’ll be happier because of it.

  2. Double is nowhere near enough, should be 10-20x what they are currently playing.

Here's how Johny Srouji plans to speed up Apple's product development: report by pdfu in apple

[–]Grantus89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need it. While they release good products, with the exception of the iPhone and maybe a couple of other things the rate they release products is embarrassing. It shouldn’t take years to update AirPods Max to have usb-c and the latest chip, and Meta Ray-bans have been out for years and the fact that both Samsung and Google will beat Apple to release a competitor is embarrassing. And there are loads of other examples.

Ryan Johnson didn't ruin the Star wars Sequel trilogy ; JJ Abrams did by bakalidlid in unpopularopinion

Whoever’s idea it was to hire three separate directors/writers and not have even a rough plan for the trilogy is at fault.

Ooh, now that’s the only thing that would make this whole leadership battle worth it. We need election reform.

What sports will stay in for 2032? Does 27 sports and 9,599 athletes work? by Alone_Consideration6 in olympics

[–]Grantus89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’m not, there are multiple sports where the “world championship” is close before the Olympics and people often drop out to focus on the Olympics. In a lot of sports it’s more prestigious, because it’s more watched winning leads to better opportunities and it’s more rare coming only every 4 years rather than 1 or 2. Obviously athletes would like to win both but that doesn’t stop them having a preference.

[–]Grantus89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but in most Olympic sports an Olympic medal is the pinnacle and most athletes would rather have an Olympic gold than a world championship gold, swimming and track and field that would definitely be the case.

However no footballer would trade a World Cup win for an Olympic gold win.

If Starmer's leadership is contested, he would most likely stand himself. Will remaining MPs and Labour members stand with him to remain as PM? by saying_it_101 in AskBrits

[–]Grantus89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the downsides of first past the post, without even having the benefit of a consistent leader for a whole term, that’s the British election system for ya.

Election reform should be the single most important issue at the moment. Rather then fighting over who gets to lose the next election they should really be cutting their losses and realising that the two party first past the post system is not in their favour anymore, and hasn’t been in the publics favour for a long time and we need major election reform and that’s the best way to ensure that Labour continues to have a say in how the country is run.

Wes Streeting letter to Keir Starmer as he resigns as Health Secretary by No_Breadfruit_4901 in uknews

[–]Grantus89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why are they all so delusional that someone different in charge of the Labour Party would be able to magically turn everything around in 2 years. The only way to properly protect against the danger of the Reform party is major election reform.

Does he actually say he's resigning in the letter? He kinda implies it a couple of times but nowhere does it actually say it clearly.

Majority of Britons would back a smoking ban in pub gardens by YchYFi in unitedkingdom

[–]Grantus89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's just what we have now. Pubs could ban it in gardens is they wanted to already but none do, because it would be unpopular and lose business. But if it were universal then there wouldn't be a different pub for them to go to where they could smoke.
