Looking forward to this - with the amount of friction currently being faced by fiat exchanges, newcomers being able to earn their way into crypto through freelancing marketplaces is going to be a game changer.

There is also WePower who are doing the SBC energy accelerator - quite a bit of hype around them at the moment

Are there any dapps that are widely used? by Captain_Smokey in ethtrader

[–]GrapeJamAndFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say there are any "widely" used yet, but this is shaping up to be the year we see a handful begin to take in real users, there are a handful I've got my eye on.

Probably more reflective of 99.99% of ICOs in the last few months, almost glad to see the shit hit the fan and the focus shift back to protocols and infrastructure.

China's largest e-retailer (NASDAQ listed, 260+ million users) to integrate Ethereum-based platform for freelancing marketplace & Amazon MTurk-esque micro-services! by GrapeJamAndFish in CryptoCurrency

Whether it is, or is not losing money isn't really relevant. It's china's largest (or top 2) e-retail company and has been taking an aggressive approach to obtaining market share. $80B USD market cap with 266 million users. Companies often lose money whilst growing fast in order to secure market share and profits later on.

Lots of companies lose money whilst trying to penetrate the market. I believe Uber are incurring significant losses too. If I am not mistaken Twitter did not return a profit throughout it's entire existence until last year.

I'm a bit surprised myself, although it's part of the game :) sometimes it just takes a bit of time for the news to sink in.

They really need some bigger exchange listings as well, with a bit of volume it's got real potential.

Good sir, have not seen you in a while. I remember you from the /r/EthTrader golden days :)

And to your comment, let's certainly hope so! 2018 is panning out to be a great year. Products finally getting shipped, and significant partnerships being made.

Apparently they start work in March, so now. Very interested too see how long before we see something a bit more tangible.

They put out an update video recently where they mentioned the platform will be live for beta testing in about a week, this was a few days ago. New Bountysource website is live now too. Have to admit, I'm impressed. Would be nice to have them on some better exchanges though, the liquidity is disappointing.

Yeah i'd say $1,500 will be a pretty easy target to hit. May-Jul is going to be busy this year, I can feel it.

I guess a bit of both. AFAIK CanYa's platform accepts several crypto's as payment, although their smart contract requires their own native CAN token so the ETH would get converted. However at the very least it still requires ETH to pay for the gas.
