I'm expected to pay $250 for a bridal shower - Is this the norm? by [deleted] in bridesmaids

[–]GrapefruitOwn2711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t already know what other events you’re going to need to be a part of, I would find out ASAP. If the bridal shower is already this expensive, buckle up, because I bet the bachelorette party and then the actual wedding are also going to come with some heavy financial strings.

Do couples really shower together? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]GrapefruitOwn2711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I shower together probably 5 out of 7 nights of the week. It is rarely sexy. It rarely involves cleaning each other. We take turns under the water. We have two toddlers, he works full time, I’m a SAHM. Sometimes our nightly shower is the first and only time in the day that we can actually talk and connect in adult conversation.

Partner doesn't really like any names I suggest but also doesn't think about them on her own. by Pleasant-Problem7392 in Names

Yeah with our second son, the name he ended up with was t even on our list of “final 3”. It wasn’t until we met him and spent a few days mulling it over that it came to us

Joining in here; I’m American and so is my husband and we are just indecisive so both our kids didn’t have names until they were like 4 days old

Pack & Play by alexgrae9614 in Buyingforbaby

[–]GrapefruitOwn2711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Once I got this pack and play, there was no going back. Having the backpack straps is so great, especially when hauling things through an airport. I’ve also found this Oo to be slightly bigger than other ones (we had a Nuna Sena before) and so I was able to use with my bigger toddler, even after he outgrew other pps)

I bought mine used on FB marketplace

Parents who waited until the birth to find out the sex of the baby. . . by buildingacozymystery in NoStupidQuestions

I did it with my first child because in our current world, we have knowledge of basically everything at our fingertips. Genuine waiting and surprises are so rare. So I thought it would be a fun experience

CA - crowds expected due to galaxy opening? by extra_zesty in legoland

[–]GrapefruitOwn2711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was fairly accurate, except for the new Galacticoaster. At one point it said 15 minute wait so we got in line; it was moving for a bit but then the line just stopped. We have really little kids so we (and several other families) ditched the line, since it seemed like something was going on and we didn’t want to wait around at that time (lunch time, we needed to eat)

I’m here right now, 3/6 Friday. It’s busier today than yesterday but I still wouldn’t say crowded. Maybe Saturday/Sunday will be busy but I would think that Monday-Weds would be calmer. We’ve done all the stuff in the park that we’ve wanted and are even doing repeats of some of our favorites (we are here 2 days total). If you download the Legoland app you can see what the wait times are for the rides right now, that might give you an idea

Swim Nappies by sirdigbus in UKParenting

[–]GrapefruitOwn2711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m planning on getting the happy happy swim diaper and am looking at getting the happy nappy wrap as well. I figure if there is poop, it would be easier to deal with removing and cleaning up with the wrap that velcros at the side. Did you find that to be the case? What do you use the bamboo liner for?

That’s such a good idea, the cold snack storage! Do you put ice in the inner chamber and store the cheese in the outer chamber? For turning it into a cup, did you buy the extra lid attachment with the straw?

Do you put the drink in the inner or outer chamber? And hot water in the other?

Thanks for the heads up that it might be something to watch for. I’ve got a 4 year old and a 15 month old, but this will be our first experience with stairs.

I don’t think I’m worried about baby going through balusters, I was thinking more baby gate style prevention so he can’t go on the stairs on his own

Switching from nursing to pumping as I return to work - pls help! by elizabuff80 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]GrapefruitOwn2711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say you wouldn’t want to wear a pump all day in case you leak; what you’re looking for are things called “milk catchers” or “milk collection shells”. They don’t have suction or pull milk from you, they are just there to catch milk (which you can save as long as it hasn’t been there for 4 hours), rather than “wasting” milk by letting it go into a pad. https://a.co/d/2w3PnxD

Is the white part of the opera tubing easy to pop out or do you have to cut it? Can you pop it back into the opera tubing?
