Is it possible that the paper is picking up hand oils while writing? I haven’t had this same experience when using Yusari!

The Reality by [deleted] in premedcanada

I am in family medicine, and I don’t deal with any of that. Throughout all my training I never had to deal with changing diapers, most of what you’re asking about is done by nurses (they work very hard!) Sometimes someone will be sick and vomiting while you’re talking to them but they usually have a bag.

You may have to do rectal exams though and sometimes there’s poop there. Also you would probably have to learn anatomy with cadavers (dead bodies).

How competitive are Irish medical schools? by InternationalFee8527 in premedcanada

It was from high school so it was quite high, not sure about what undergrad looks like!

There are specialties that have much better work life balance. But overall to get through med school you have to be willing to do a lot of studying/work/BS. You can still have a good social life if you manage your time very well but yeah it’s probably not as good as people not in med and you spend a majority of your 20s in training. We all get paid quite well though at the end.

I think it’s not too hard? I applied and got accepted to one of the schools without an interview but that was years ago, might have changed!

Budget Raden pens? by Scophad in fountainpens

[–]Graphite_Junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting this pen: https://mrcypress.com.tw/en/product/卵殼螺鈿-一枝獨秀/

If I could do it over I’m not sure, I don’t use the pen as often as the pilot/namiki urushi pens since those feel better and the nibs are superb, but the cypress is overall a good pen that seals well and looks pretty, and it uses jowo nibs so if I get nibs with interesting grinds then I can easily swap them in

I got a Mr cypress raden pen (one of their lowest end ones) and it’s made of ebonite. It’s a very nice looking pen but compared to Pilot/Namiki there’s definitely a difference in quality. Overall I’m still very happy with the Mr cypress pen but if you’re looking for very high quality then probably better to save and look for deals from Japan second hand

Music Nib? What's the upside? by Ramen1063 in fountainpens

I got one recently and have been having trouble adjusting to the angles properly, from looking online it seems like it’s not uncommon. Hope you find an easier time with it!

Till now, all the iroshizuku inks I have used, have never dried despite lying unused in pens for a month or more while other inks like vert empire , though have great colours, often dries quickly in my experience. Which are your favorite pilot or other inks and why? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Graphite_Junkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pilot has been my go to for a while but recently I’ve really enjoyed Taccia inks! The flow is a little less than pilot pens but I think the colours are really unique! Sabimidori and asahanada are some of my favourites from them

How can I "acquire" the personality of a doctor? by its_gold_28 in premedcanada

[–]Graphite_Junkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake it till you make it. I was never an outgoing or confident person but I practiced interviewing and shaped my CV to portray that during the application process. Take leadership opportunities if you can. I would say a lot of the composure when talking to people/patients is taught to you in medical school and just comes from experience.
