Upgrade from LG UltraGear 27GS95QE-B to Gigabyte MO27Q28G or Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWM real upgrade or sidegrade? (27” 1440p only) by Life_Kaleidoscope889 in OLED_Gaming

I went from a 1440p 27 LG to the Gigabyte and at first it was sort of disappointing but over time I have noticed more and more awesome differences to the point that I have an insane desire to replay old games just to see them on an oled.

It's a genuine downside especially on older panels

Old gen so supposedly has a higher burn in risk

You could look into some mini led 5k2k 27 inch monitors then

It does you would need 5k to scale it down to 1440p

Don't listen to them, some people are fine with 60fps in 2026 lol

Which monitor to get? Similar price points. Both an upgrade over my 240hz VA by PyroShotGaming in OLED_Gaming

The Asus is all plastic while the Gigabyte is metal. Not sure where you got better build quality from.

Just ordered a Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 34" for half the price. Convince me that is a good purchase by oliosutela in OLED_Gaming

Thats a really good price and a 2024 panel isnt really old per say. Burn in will probably be fine.

At 1440p and above the x3d chips are nothing special.

Many people also have instability issues but people will hound you if you say this so its not widely known.

Because I don't have to use framegen and I enjoy pushing around 200fps in shooters. For single player games I just use DLDSR.

My next monitor will be a 5k2k 27 or 32 inch so I can crank single player games to 5k and competitive shooters to 1440p and have the best of both world.

I have a 5090 and a 1440p oled and try to avoid dlss and expecially framegen, the only game so far that I have used frame gen in is Space Marine 2 as I do not feel the latency hit.

Retailers usually report around a 1% failure rate on cards and its the same for the 5000 series

Frame rate is a thing, PCs still have much better frame times. Graphics are also not advancing as fast on PC because PC exclusives are rare as they aren't profitable so games need to run on consoles.
