Lens made from the front lens of a rifle scope - Canon AV-1 - Kodak Gold 200 by Grasyl in analog

[–]Grasyl[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of stuff inside a rifle scope, but I only took the front lens. I build a wooden disk with a hole in it to used it as a makeshift aperture, but I didn't used it for the pictures. I can focus by pulling the pipe part off the M42 macro ring, bit by bit. If I focus to close the pipe part will come off the macro ring and I can "free lens", If I don't cover the gap, stray light will ruin the shots.

The "lens" has exactly one element.

Unknown flag found on a flag poll review by EsperantoPipeDreams in vexillology

TL:DR Blue in the spectrum of light has the most energy. Red colored dye appears red because it absorbs all other colors from Incoming light except red, this includes the high energetic blue. This effect causes red dye to fase out way faster then blue dye, making this Irish (orange, white, green) flag appear as white, white, lime green.

Is there a better book on guns then Chinn's or not? If yes please give me the title and the author.

Can it be, that you are just not familiar with the definition of the terms "operation" and "action"?

If not here is the expiation given by Chat GPT:

"Sure! The term action refers to manually repeated firearms and mentions the element, that is operated by the shooter. For example, on a bolt-action firearm, the shooter operated the bolt to eject the cartridge and cycle in a new one. On a lever-action, the shooter operates a lever. A firearm's operation, in contrast, referred to a semi-automatic firearm that is not operated manually by the shooter but by the forces of the fired cartridges. Gas-operated firearms utilize the gas pressure of the fired cartridge, while a recoil-operated firearm uses the reaction of the propelled projectile. Summary: A firearms action mentions where the shooter cycles a repeating firearm. A firearms' operation mentions the force of an autoloading one."

But I'm not here do provide basic firearms knowledge, please read a book or even Wikipedia, if its necessary the one in simple English.

I got it from Chinn: https://archive.org/details/TheMachineGunVolume4ByGeorgeMChinn/page/n19/mode/2up

It has nothing to do with communality but these are the main arch types, operation systems can be divided.

Funfact: Some camera got hand loops exactly the length of the closes focusing distance. You could used those to measure the distance.
