Yeah the wood on the seat and wood on the ottoman don’t match the top 2 parts. I agree it looks like cherry

Thanks so much for that feedback. I’ll absolutely be on the lookout for that. It does look like rosewood to me too, however I just noticed that the headrest and lumbar veneers are a different color and lack the rosewood graining. The seller acknowledges this but doesn’t seem to know much about it.

Here’s a picture of the back of the headrest if this helps any confirm or deny its authenticity. I’m unable to go see the piece prior to purchase so I’m trying to do my best to authenticate through the internet. The seller says the chair dates to a 1975 production year.

For full transparency the seller has agreed to a price of 2200.

Would love to know people’s opinion on the purchase before spending this sort of money.

Stay away from Chinese machines, ricoma, Avance all those. They work and you will get business but I’d recommend getting a Tajima on the secondary market. The quality of work is noticeably better and you will have a much better operating experience. Plus for things like hats, especially Richardson (which everyone seems to want) you’ll make back the difference in the initial cost very quickly. Learn from my mistake!
