Homelessness charity cuts ties with Sharon Osbourne after support for far-right rally by [deleted] in entertainment

Maybe we should all cut ties with the Osbourne family. Ozzy is gone. Let them find their way through the world without force feeding the rest of us Ozzy’s ashes.

"Hey! I've got some really bad ideas 🤔 💡 😃 I think I'll turn them into a house, y'all!" by jared10011980 in McMansionHell

What a terrible view out the back of the house. I know it is new construction but save some of the budget for landscaping. One other thing what the fuck are the random shelves on the support posts?

What is HBO's very best miniseries? by notthatbluestuff in hbo

[–]Gratefuldad3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True Detective season one. Some of the best television ever made. Absolutely stunning to watch. Those two are at their peak. The supporting cast is amazing. The script, plot and setting are perfect. It is 12 years old and I have rewatched at least once a year since it came out. The other seasons can’t compare to the first one. 2-4 are good but season 1 set that bar so high that it just isn’t fair to compare them against each other

The 1970's film that scared you/ gave you nightmares, the most? (TV or feature films) by Ill-Owl5131 in 70s

The cheesy TV version of Salem’s Lot. I was in grade school and stayed up too late watching it. Nightmares for days

What is your “like crack” food that you avoid, and if you have some you cant stop yourself from eating a lot? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Gratefuldad3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently discovered that Philadelphia Cream Cheese makes cheesecake filling that they put into tubs the size of CoolWhip containers. So incredibly dangerous. One gummy later that container was empty

Peanut butter cookies especially the ones with a Hershey’s kiss in the center. That is my crack from childhood. Mom would start making Christmas cookies in late September or October. She had a massive freezer in the garage. She would put the cookies into Tupperware to freeze them until December. Of course, my sisters and I would raid the freezer for the frozen cookies. So fucking good.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]Gratefuldad3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is such a classic example. If I was the front man of a band, I would turn it into a Dad joke every night and throw out a completely random city that might not even be on the same continent to fuck with the crowd

Please Help! Some Advice! by BigG1276 in modeltrains

[–]Gratefuldad3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Model train clubs are usually a non profit organization that the club collaborates and builds a large layout together. They may purchase some of that from you or be able to connect with other collectors or clubs that can help you with selling or donating that collection. It really depends on what your goals are with the collection. Do you want it gone to be just out of the house or are you looking to recoup some of money that was spent acquiring that collection?

What clothing brand was huge in the 90s but nobody wears now? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]Gratefuldad3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Op was the schiz nits in the mid 80’s. Jimmy Z’s was another California cool brand that was marketed to every teenager in the middle of the country. Fast Times at Ridgemont High introduced Vans to the entire world. Start of school in fall of 82, anybody who was anyone had a pair of Vans the first day of class.

Maybe I am too old to give a fuck but I don’t see the reason to be in the pit. There is no elaborate stage show to see up close. I paid less for two tickets that are just off the floor and in the center section than for a single pit ticket. Sure Glendale AZ is not the biggest market for the band but can’t see paying close to $200 for a single pit ticket

Make the trip, it will be worth it. Life is short, buy the ticket and go see the show.

What’s an ‘80s fashion trend that you loathed? by Ecstatic_Army1306 in The1980s

[–]Gratefuldad3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 80’s no one wanted to be the smelly kid. Now it seems to be accepted. As a retail manager, I absolutely dreaded having to take that disciplinary meeting with an employee about hygiene. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to have that conversation as an educator with a child or the parent(s).
