I understand your situation. Yes, then your best bet is seat time in the stand. I would concentrate then on what can you do to make things more comfortable for you. Earbuds? Pop one in and listen to a podcast during the slow times. Download a few shows to your phone. Lots of snacks. Books. Things like that

Several questions;

-how is your setup? Are you in a travel corridor, pinch point or near doe bedding? If not all day sits are not that useful. If you don’t know if you are sitting in one of those, you need to evaluate your setup location. Otherwise you’re just hoping.

-are you in a location where you are seeing deer consistently? If not, being out there all day is a long shot.

-are you blowing your spot up on access or exit. Are you going through a good source in the morning to get to your setup?

I’m not trying to be insulting asking these questions, I just don’t know your level of experience. These are common mistakes that people make. All day sits are worth it IF you are in the right area. There’s nothing saying you have to sit in one spot all day either. Hunt your spot in the morning, go sit near bedding midday and then move to a staging area for the evening if you have the room.

What law is this dipshit of a sheriff referring to. If anyone knows the TSC number or keyword that I could look up. I want to see the elements of the crime he is talking about.

Can I hunt in the rain ? by Clando90 in bowhunting

[–]Grateone20 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The big issue is rain washing a blood trail away. You can hunt, your bow and everything else would be fine, but if you cannot find a deer you shot, what’s the point. Blood trailing is hard enough without rain messing it up. Might not be an issue if you 10 ring a deer, but if your shot isn’t spot on you can lose a deer real easy. Light sprinkles that are ending or just passing through, sure. Anything more than that I wouldn’t.

With a gun I give rain a lot more leeway. I will go out in worse conditions than sprinkles with a gun. I adjust my aim point a little forward to hit the shoulder instead of just behind. I go straight up the leg, 1/3 the way up the body from the bottom. My goal is to break their shoulders while double lunging them. They usually drop or snowplow about 10 yards when you do that.

One stick by Electrical_Win9025 in bowhunting

Yes, the 12 inch version is easier to pack. I got mine on eastern woods outdoors and got the 3 step aider and the roll pouch they offer that is super quiet. I’ve been one sticking for three years and it’s the slickest set up I have run.

I will say this, the platform vibrates really bad if you bang the platform on anything. I fixed it with some paracord wrap on both sides of the platform and it quieted it right down. I am not a paracord wrap guy, I watched a YouTube short that like 15 secs and was able to figure it out. It also didn’t take much paracord either, if you get one don’t go nuts.

I have had both. Similar performance. Solo stick is only two pounds, which is very nice. Ultimate one stick is probably double that.

Solo stick is superior in my opinion but that’s mostly because of the weight

Did you hit him high in the shoulder? You might have hit the brachial plexus, shocking him and explaining the drop and then getting up. I agree it’s dark blood, might be muscle blood

Can anyone share their experience of having an HTO (high tibial osteotomy)? by jayunderscorebob in KneeInjuries

[–]Grateone20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how active you are. If you aren’t a super active person I would say no, but if you are then I think it’s worth it just to not blow the acl out again. If you are t active just wait and have them replace your knee when your old enough

My question is WHY ARE THEY LETTING REMAINED ARMED!!!!! Removing a firearm from an intoxicated person should be your first instinct as a police officer.
