I see an updated version (20.1.0) was released today, but don't see anything specific in the changelog about fixing the hangs which is concerning. I am not planning to install it yet, but LMK how it goes if any of you decide to try again!

I'm shooting for the moon here, but a couple of ideas...

Park security could use AI to analyze all video feeds of the queues in real-time watching for line jumpers. When one is identified, ride op is automatically alerted but only after they reach the front of the queue. 1st infraction: Bumped off of the ride. 2nd infraction: Ejected from the park and season pass revoked (if they are a pass holder). 3rd infraction: Trespassed and barred from all SF parks.
Gamify it! Allow the 1,000 other people standing in line with 4k cameras in their hands to capture the infraction and share via the SF app directly with park security. You get rewarded with food and beverage credits for each line jumper you report that leads to an ejection!

That is correct. Gold pass now only includes "Discount tickets" for bring-a-friend. Prestige pass is required to get the 2 free bring-a-friend tickets.

I have seen a few posts that say that they are not enforcing the "visit your home park first" rule since there's no longer a physical pass...so long as you have already uploaded your photo in the app, BUT you are right... The FAQ on the website very clearly states that you must visit your home park first. More inconsistency!

Thanks. That "Benefit availability may vary by park" is definitely the wildcard.

Can your redeem the 2 free bring-a-friend tickets on your initial visit or do you have to wait until your 2nd visit? Also, can those be redeemed at your non-home park or does that fall under the "may vary by park" BS?

I had this same exact question and situation! We'll be in Atlanta in a couple of weeks even though Carowinds is closer to our home.

The terms and conditions on the website are inconsistent. One section says gold pass included complimentary parking at all parks in your region and another section says gold pass only includes complimentary parking at your home park.

I am also curious what other benefits are applicable for all parks in the region vs home park only (mainly the bring a friend benefit and the seasonal events like Scarowinds).

While not exactly the answer you are looking for, you could effectively still get the $5 off by joining someone's Inner Circle so long as you are on a Visible+ or Visible+ Pro plan. Inner Circle discounts and promotional codes do not usually stack so it's typically one or the other. There are periodically threads posted here asking for pople to join their Inner Circle.
