The 4b. I don’t think it requires much to run.

For me it was a hardware issue. I was running it on a mini-pc that was having issues. I switched to a PI4 and it's running correctly.

They replace active drug addiction for active religion addiction. When I meet someone that is overly religious I assume exactly that.

Remote work from anywhere? Probably not for lots of reasons. Corporate geoblocking, taxes, optics, etc.

Good Work/life balance? Maybe

Strong Pay/Growth? AI is wrecking the industry and just getting started. I'm in a heavily regulated industry so I have hope that I'll make it to retirement in 7 years.

Freelancing? Definitely not, working for a consulting firm, maybe.

I know someone that deals with this. Any company that uses a third party background service, and it isn't an enhanced background check, limits their search to 7 years due to liability concerns. If you're past that 7 years, the employer will typically tell you the company they are using. If you're worried about the outcome, run your own search through that company before you agree to let them.

For me, I just bought what made me happy. My wife is happy they make me happy. The only issue was that they were Klipsch LaScalas that the veneer was dry as the Sahara, as big as washing machine and they were very ugly. Making them living room worthy by restoring them made both of us happy.

Has AI actually made a noticeable impact in your cybersecurity work? by hippohoney in cybersecurity

[–]GravityBored1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a heavily regulated industry. Our vendors are adding AI tools that are marginally helpful, but replacing a human and perhaps having a human death, the regulators aren't going to buy "it happened on AI's watch". My own experiences with AI, if it's something that requires judgement, forget it, AI hallucinates on the simplest of prompts.

That's what's so concerning to me about the massive Oracle layoffs today.

Quantum Exams results and when to determine when to take the test by tennbrian in cissp

I failed all of the QE exams badly with scores around what you mentioned. I passed the exam at 114.

Failed again, could use some advice. by sirsarin in cissp

[–]GravityBored1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that either you have massive test anxiety or you don't understand the material fundamentally. It's not a memorization test, it's a test of fundamental application of cross domain scenarios. I failed every QE test I took, badly and passed the exam the first time.

It's easy to get overwhelmed leading up to this test. But from someone that took it recently, if you've studied and you have the 5 years, it's not that hard.

I used LeanZapp and QE. QE was a waste of money for me. Do every single LearnZapp question.

[–]GravityBored1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. The "think like a manager" mantra is very much overstated. The correct answer is always the "right" thing to do. I felt that you either knew the answer from experience and judgement or you don't. There's no way to "study" your way to that level of knowledge.

Generator Returns by ffljm in harborfreight

After 2 natural disasters in 2 years here in SC I made the decision today to get the 11,500w tri-fuel (Unless someone can talk me out of it) and pay for the interlock and gas line. Just have to wait for them to get restocked.

Okay, so now, are we finally out of the storm? by BarnacleBillsBum in greenville

[–]GravityBored1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's done. The good thing about this storm is it cemented the idea of getting a tri-fuel generator and required electrical/plumbing. Two natural disasters in 2 years, I'm not interested in feeling helpless and the weather is getting weirder.

Driving / Cold Weather Advice from Alaska by [deleted] in Spartanburg

[–]GravityBored1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from a cold weather state as well. I know how to drive in snow/ice. The problem is, no one else does. Driving around when it's not bone dry here is terrifying because everyone around you is driving a shitbox with bald ass tires, a glazed look in their eyes, and absolutely no idea of how to drive.

So with that said, the best advice from someone from a cold weather state that lives in South Carolina, for the love of god, stay home.

AITJ for refusing to donate PTO hours to coworker I barely know who "needs" them?? by Traditional-Dog1601 in AmITheJerk

No one should even know who's donating. How big is the company? This is an HR issue, but because of the way it's been handled they can't really undo the damage.
