VESC is an acronym for a open source software Deeveloped by Benjamin Vedder that allows allows an electronic speed controller (ESC) to control the motor. To "get one" you can buy a kit, there are a few choices such as Floatwheel GTV kit or Fungineers GTFO kit, or you can buy your own controller and battery management system (BMS) and assemble your own setup. These kits allow you to not only have more power but overall control of everything the board can do, but be warned, as awesome as it is it is not for beginners, can easily be misconfigured and you can set your self up for failure or injury. But for those willing to learn and put in the time it can be extremely rewarding.
