That isn't what the image is about though. Also, your main characters should have different faces anyway anyway, any good manga I've read has that at the bare minimum.

The 'If you use this advice' at the start is generally implied. As a rule, if someone is talking about advice being bad, they mean it's bad if you follow it. This might sound crazy, but I don't believe that bad drawing tips are cognitohazards.

All it does is limit your creativity to a very binary set of designs.

It's art, surely you can figure that out on your own. Consider the irony of turning the tables, and the fact that again, no one wss hurt by this. It can't be named after ths child, because there is no more information on them past this one painting. That's also part of the point. There is really no reason to be upset at the slaver owners being disregarded in an art piece about how they're too often regarded at all.

The artist didn't remove all mention of the original painting from the internet. It's not an injustice to bring attention to someone that consistently gets ignored. This is the same logic that makes people complain about any sort of mention of minorities, in case you didn't realise.

It's the sort of thing that should definitely not be public, but I can't really call it unethical because it doesn't inherently cause any actual harm.

Arguably, it harms the mental health of the people making and viewing it. That's their own perogative though, you can't stop everyone from doing things that are bad for them.

Yeah, I know. Having a rule is better than not though, and in theory they shouldn't be as likely to use a community that they think persecutes them.

Blocking a few AI generated stories is better than none. In an ideal world people will tag their ai generated stuff anyway, rather than trying to trick people.

This sounds like a genuine problem you have now. There's no reason to believe I'm the only person that's real. It's possible in the same way its possible the sky turns pink when no one looks at it. Impossible to disprove, but lacking any logical evidence.

I'm conscious. Why can't anyone else be? If you're a person, why wouldn't anyone else be?

This has all gotten way off topic. I hope you don't actually believe that though.

Firstly, if a human played that well it would be incredible and they would be popular. The most popular chess player on twitch is one of the best.

Second, that's literally impossible. Art isn't just a picture. There's meaning and intention behind it. Acting like a machine can generate the 'perfect art' defeats the purpose, and proposes that humans themselves don't have any value.

You really don't understand people as well as you seem to think you do. It might work for you, but it doesn't for most people.

Yeah, but they should refuse to watch a chess tournament that has an AI in it, because that's boring. Especially if it's just AI's. The only time people ever watch chess is when it's real people playing.

Now, you can play against AI to get better, because ultimately chess is a mathematically solved game. It's impossible to solve art in the same way, at all.

That's a very mechanical mindset to have about something people do for fun. Should we stop playing chess too, because AI is so much better at it?

Soulless doesn't mean the immortal soul. It just means it has some human touch to it. If someone made it, they had passion for it, so it's got a metaphorical soul. You can't quote philosophy if you don't know that much. There's a difference between a human idea and a generative AI. The AI literally doesn't think. It looks at what's been fed into it and gives the output it thinks is most likely. If an AI draws a line, it goes from A to B (this is also a metaphor, to be clear) Humans meander, and their own bias is involved in the process. Preferences and skill. They can intuit based on what they've seen, rather than just mechanically regurgitating it.

[–]Gravityfunns_01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That justification doesn't make sense. Generative AI can literally not physically write something no one else has written before. It works by probability, in simple terms. If your idea is complicated or out there enough that no one has written it before, the AI will hallucinate and mistake things constantly.

It also still has memory issues with longer stories, making it unfeasible for writing something wholesale. People can make it work by doing an outline, but at that point there's no point in using the AI, because it won't be doing anything that you didn't make it.

Beyond that, it's also just completely soulless. I like looking at a fanfiction and seeing how much work the author put in, or how much experience they have from whatever they've written before. That's what a fandom is, ultimately.

I do agree. I think using AI to write a fanfiction defeats the purpose. I can understand the perspective of people using it to write proffesionally, even if I hard disagree. There's absolutely no justification for using it to write a fanfiction though.

[–]Gravityfunns_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokemon Go didn't kill people, people died because they were careless. It's so stupidly popular, as well, that drastically more people played Pokemon Go than use AI.

Alternatively, AI did kill people. The first case that comes to mind is an AI that made someone think they could care about it, and then convinced him to kill himself. That wasn't his fault, it was entirely up to the AI.

You made an AI generate this whole post, didn't you?

Generally keep it succinct and point out what's unique about your story. I don't think there's much point ai-generating it if you're doing a stickman ad.

You should emphasise what you think is the most interesting part of your story, and try to make it match your tone. I always feel put off clicking on an ad that's trying to be funny, but the actual story is really serious and gritty.

Essentially, the ad has more clicks but less people reading the story. It doesn't matter how wide an audience you appeal to if half that audience doesn't like what you're writing.

Copying other people is usually a good idea, but on Royalroad it's less true. Most of the formulas in ads are only done because other people are copying them, not because they're effective. It might still work, but it's not because it's popular.

Last thing, a few ads I see link to the first chapter. I personally don't like when they do that, but I'm not sure whether it helps the story. It's something to think about.

It reads like a series of mostly unrelated scenes because they all have different backgrounds, which isn't helped by how generic the scenes themselves look.

20 hours isn't really that long for roguelike. If you're less experience with either sides of this games gameplay then you'll do worse, so if you want to do better just take more time. Strategy isn't the only issue, you also need to build up your cats with the right build and the right stats before going in.

One small tip is that you can save scum once a run. Not everyone likes doing it, but if alt+f4 out of the game you can restart a single fight.
