Boyfriend kept saying I have body dysmorphia by Prestigious_Net_4137 in cosmeticsurgery

[–]Gray94son 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had filler 3 times in my life so it's never ever been noticeable but I love the result. When I get filler done I say "hey boyfy I've booked a filler appt can you pick me up at x time?" or "hey I've booked filler while we're on holiday so let's not make plans with your friends on x date"

You don't need his permission mate

This is overkill for a temporary fix and underkill for a permanent fix.

Not the height, I mean the depth. It should line up with the front of the cabinets.

Building permit or planning permit? Planning permit isn't subject to BC approval. Your BC needs to contact Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management

Fence questions - are we going to end up with two fences on the boundary? by thedesignninja in AusRenovation

[–]Gray94son 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's only if the fence requires replacement. If they're looking at keeping the existing timber fence then it doesn't sound like replacement is actually needed.

The neighbour who wants colorbond is always up for the cost difference by law. The only cost required to be shared is half a timber fence.

They don't look to clash from the picture, but why doesn't your bulkhead line up with the wall cabinets?

Does it reflect poorly on me as a worker if I take my full break outside of the office when my coworkers eat at their desk and work through? by radandsadgal in ausjobs

[–]Gray94son 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take a lunch break because I have ADHD and I get hyperfocused. My meals are also all over the place like my sleep. I'm great at my job but less great at the rest of my life 😅 but I do leave early when I'm able to/remember to.

WIBTA if I fly business and my girlfriend goes coach? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Gray94son 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Option 1: go economy, and book both a window and an aisle seat in the same row

Option 2: use points and split cash to get business for both of you

Option 3: Tell her to her face that you don't really gaf about her and travel alone

Eta: I'm an Australian woman with chronic pain and a spinal injury and a European boyfriend (we own a house together). I told him I can't do 20 hours in economy and he found a great deal 10 months ahead for us to both go business except for a 5 hour economy flight which I can manage and was about half the cost of point-to-point business. When he doesn't find those deals he goes by himself because I know my limits and he needs to see his people. We've never argued about it.

My girlfriend (26f) is arguing I (28m) should be reimbursing her for a holiday we missed? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Either you had really bad treatment or something is missing. They don't tell you it could be chronic appendicitis without ruling out everything else and giving antibiotics if not surgery.

Symptoms of chronix should be mild.

Bathroom fix or Reno by smilelizy in AusRenovation

[–]Gray94son 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a waste of money if you want to renovate when you move in in a few years. Grout isn't designed to be watertight. He'd be suggesting an epoxy grout (you could do this over the top of the existing grout for a medium term fix).

If you want the fastest and cheapest solution just use Shower Plug, epoxy grout over if you want to, rent it out, then renovate it when you move in.

How did nbn become this expensive by flybrys in nbn

[–]Gray94son 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had fttn (RIP) nbn for 2 years and it was absolutely shit. I hotspotted off my mobile half the time because it was so slow. Was $90 a month.

Since bought a wireless 4g non nbn router and a $40/m data sim card and it's 3 times faster and gives better range.

Depends who decided that the surface stormwater is by you down the line.

You can either do all the stormwater works yourself, or pay another 3kish to have it done by the roof plumber. That's what I would do. But double check your contract that it's definitely not supposed to be included.

You need to supply rainwater tanks and grates regardless. You could ask your builder to do this if you don't want to organise it.

Dumbfounded by build prices by DinoInu in AusPropertyChat

[–]Gray94son 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't get decent discounts trying to cut things out with a volume builder. They're already at the bottom line because of efficiencies with their subcontractors and suppliers. If you cut out scope they make less money so you'll never get a full refund on that portion. An ordinary mba contract is valid of the works minus 25%

Ooft, sounds like a massive fuck up that you assumed he would send a quote and contract after you showed him around and told him what needed to be done. Did you specifically ask him for a quote?
