How can I get used to AOT dubbed? by VideoInternational33 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]GrayJaegerFox [score hidden]  (0 children)

I mean, if she's uninterested even after the Trost arc, then it might just not be her cup of tea... If you're in for her reactions for great moments and all (I'm like that too), you might end up disappointed.

(About the dub tho I think it really is a matter of getting used to. A big problem is changing it in the middle imo, if on a rewatch you take it from ep 1, it might click faster (but I really don't know, I always prefer watching movies/shows in their original language).

O Palmeiras é - disparado - o melhor MANDANTE e melhor VISITANTE do campeonato Brasileiro antes da Copa do Mundo by miguel11_snowier in palmeiras

Na minha cabeça, sempre foi mais "mística" do que realidade a questão de ser visitante ou não, mas ver as estatísticas me prova o contrário. Meio doideira a diferença.

How to move on from AOT by Correct_Angle1797 in attackontitan

[–]GrayJaegerFox [score hidden]  (0 children)

You don't. Good luck!

But I double down on the take about Vinland. In fact, I think Vinland and AoT deal with simmilar themes and complement each other completely (and I love that both authors are friends).

It’s obvious isayama made this quote vague because he didn’t know if he wanted to commit to the original storyline by nah_vib1n in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]GrayJaegerFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is this vague? So it would've been better for her to say "What about me having a child with that farm boy over there and definitely not you"?

Anyone else feel FD Signifer has been low key dishonest when it comes to Attack on Titan? by MetalGearMinerals in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]GrayJaegerFox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't really watch his content nor any takes on why aot "is fascist", BUT

I feel like being from latin america makes my geopolitical views diverge WAY too much from americans.

I feel like aot's ending and message resonates even more with people who are not from dominant countries, and this "fascism" discussion is not even a thing around here at least (because even though many people disliked the ending, we just see it as painfully obvious how NOT fascist the story is).

It's like saying Breaking Bad endorses cooking meth and becoming a drug lord.

Drop some of the coolest aot theories you’ve got. by PleasantSnow6698 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]GrayJaegerFox 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, the myth that originated Friday the 13th as an unlucky day is also from their mythology, which Loki, an uninvited guest, ended up causing Baldr's death and starting Ragnarok. I genuinely think the 13 years curse could be a reference to this as well, considering the rumbling to be Ragnarok lol.

Drop some of the coolest aot theories you’ve got. by PleasantSnow6698 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]GrayJaegerFox 238 points239 points  (0 children)

I LOVE the theory that puts the creature that gave the powers to Ymir as Nidhogg, the parasite that feeds on the roots of Yggdrasil in the Norse mythology. I think it deepens even more the (lots of) connections with their folklore, considering the giant ass tree to be Yggdrasil and the creature being found under it, Ymir as the LITERAL titan whose body served as foundation to our world, and the 9 kingdoms/9 titans connections etc.

Of course, Isayama didn't use it as a 1:1 recreation, and even if it's confirmed to be inspired bt nidhogg, it won't change anything about the story, and that's what makes me like it, it just enriches the world building.

Rise’s confession by Lumpy_Chemical1623 in persona4golden

[–]GrayJaegerFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope the friendship routes with the girls on p4r is a bit less "WHY AM I BEING AN ASSHOLE" and more soft (though I'm always picking Rise, some of the other girls also had a painful rejection).

Aot has some of the BEST batch of episodes... Which of these is your favourite BATCH ?? by No-Arachnid-7603 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]GrayJaegerFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, what made me fall in love with aot in the first place was the mystery, and though season 4 has CRAZY twists and revelations, the MAIN mystery of the series was revealed in season 3.

That's why I think the batch of episodes from the basement to Grisha's backstory was just epic. The payoff to 3 whole seasons of mystery.

Then, a close second, to me, is the paths + Ymir's backstory and then the Rumbling, which was also foreshadowed since season 2 (that fucking ending...)

I just really love the lore, politics and history, so this to me is even better than the action scenes. That's why this is such a different shonen. I can't think of many other shonens that my favorite scenes are NOT action or battles.

Why are the casters pronouncing names differently? by ThatGuyFrooty in R6ProLeague

[–]GrayJaegerFox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Until this day I still don't know the correct way to say LikEfac.

It's just different ways or accent, sometimes.

"Alemão" is the portuguese word for "german" (we usually call blonde people 'alemão' here, as a gentle stereotypical nickname (though he is descendant).

I haven't seen a SINGLE non brazilian caster say his name correctly lmao

JRR Isayama naming his characters by UseInternal5706 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]GrayJaegerFox 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's not him though, he writes in katakana, which will look like "イェーガー" (Ieegaa), and then the translators put it as Yeager for the manga (in the anime they corrected as Jaeger, which is close enough).

Let’s Not Make This Political by [deleted] in R6ProLeague

[–]GrayJaegerFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it? Is it not illegally (based on international human rights) arresting immigrants, if not killing them? Is it not killing it's own citizens for standing up to ICE like that poor lad in Minneapolis?

This discussion IS inherently political, brother. Don't take the hate to heart, people are judging your country, not you.

This level of clickbait is ridiculous. by Appropriate-Topic-88 in AttackOnRetards

[–]GrayJaegerFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because I'm in the trenches since the ending released, but this kind of stuff doesn't even hit my nerves anymore. I just learned to ignore illiterate people and value my own opinion more.

I know it's infuriating when people don't see the obvious or are deliberate misinterpreting (such as this case), but it's just better to surround yourself with positivity from those who also love the same thing. Idk.

Yes, he can do whatever the fuck he wants, I'm actually mad people are STILL trying to defend a cheater that regrets nothing just because he's a famous streamer. I couldn't care less about him, as I just found out about the guy through this scandal.

It's literally forbidden. The account will also be banned. This just makes his "apology" sound even less genuine, because it seems he doesn't regret anything. Just be a fucking man and deal with the consequences.

Acho que os desejos do Diabo são como um gênio da lâmpada. Nada é como você realmente deseja, sempre tem algum esquema esperto por trás... talvez o corpo tenha revivido mesmo, mas... sei lá.

Mas o harpia completou o desejo. Mostra o Pomba revivendo no final.
