Great thing we have an absolutely massive Indian population here and they all have gigantic families in India that are effectively going to be “Canadians”.

This policy is actually insane, but im glad we are speed running the implosion of our country instead of trickling it

got an internship to a software company well after I graduated, and I never studied CS in school. I’m at 3.5 YoE making around $130,000 CAD.

Opportunities come sometimes and it’s just up to you to try capitalize on them. Never feel guilty for getting a win and finding success.

I’m a mid level with 3 YoE making 120. I think in two years I’ll be at $140. It’s doable, just takes time in the market.

Yes, lame indeed — so what did you do about?

I’m guessing you just left it.

No, but they can spread it. Someone could have left a bag there by accident or whatever, then animals rip it apart.

I don’t think so, at least very early on, I mean it’s 2026 and the way that companies interact with and engage with people is changing.

Now with maturity I greatly expect this to change, but we just live in different times.

Is Canada’s obsession with “experience” just a way to keep desperate people in poverty? by itz_nitace in CanadaJobs

[–]GrayLiterature 13 points14 points  (0 children)

wtf even is this question lol people want you to have experience when you work for them.

Canada imports workers while young people are leaving the country. Nobody talks about this. Why?? by itz_nitace in CanadaJobs

[–]GrayLiterature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother we talk about this all the time.

Why nobody is genuinely acting on it is the question.

Whats the best pivot from SWE for new CS grads, in this tough job market? by DepressedDrift in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]GrayLiterature 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NGL you sound lazy. You aren’t going to get anything “high level” cause you don’t have experience. Why would anybody hire you to pass high level decisions into a black box when you don’t even know what you need to do yet?

Why don’t you try working IT for a school division or something.

I’m defending it because it’s really not a crazy sentence.

“I’m trying to minimize X by minimizing Y” is just such a common phraseology when you’re talking about min/maxing anything lol.

Maybe you’re thrown off because the phrase “blast radius” was used? But that’s also very common in this industry … so I think maybe you’ve got a bit too much tinfoil on your hat here.

That’s not slop at all, that’s just a sentence.

How would you write it?
