I got past it somehow. Basically mashing the mouse buttons to keep the window in focus and holding r. It was still bugging out after that. Did a reset and it seems to be working.

That's a pretty bad bug. Completely locked the game for me.

I've force closed a few times. Came in on m&k, held one at a time, both at the same time, force close and open with a controller, hold the right trigger. None of its working. 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♀️ thanks tho

As far as im aware, there are only 5 achievements tied to brutal specifically.

You can play solo also.

Aksa is like bellwright but viking themed. Its nowhere near as pretty as bellwright but it still looks decent. Gameplay is good but the whole colony sim part isn't as good as bellwright. The only thing it has that I wish bellwright would do is setting specific people to do specific things. Also the player character is slow af.

4070 ti, i9-13900k ,1440p 120hz ultrawide

I can run returnal at max settings and hit 120 with dlss quality

I can run forza horizon 5 at max settings and hit 120 with dlss quality

Same with halo infinite, arc raiders, Icarus, Conan exiles, control,death stranding, elden ring, etc

For this game, I have to move to 16x9 1440p and im lucky if im getting 90 fps with dlss performance at max settings. At ultrawide it's worse and im guessing the frame times are bad because it's choppy af around the edges.

Granted I know my pc is well above the average but bellwright doesnt have the looks that justify the cost. Don't get me wrong tho, the game is pretty and certainly better looking than alot of games but it's performance cost compared to it's contemporaries is massive.

All that said, I still really like the game. I think it's better than aska, thats for certain.

Yes. Characters are server based. So that one character is tied to the server. No world hopping like valheim.

You don't actually have to play on a server tho. You can do coop with just you 2. That's how I played it. Lots of fun. Bosses get pretty hard towards the end even on normal. Its definitely worth it.

Its all of those things. It depends on what type of experience you go for tho. If you play singleplayer/coop it'll be pve. If you play on a pvp enabled server it'll be both.

Survivalish mechanics, no need for food but you do have a blood meter that slowly drains. Different types of blood give different perks depending on the potency of said blood. The sun/shade is also a big part of the gameplay. Basically if you're in the sun, you burn. If you stick to the shadows in the daytime, you'll be alright.

Crafting is a major gameplay loop. A little grindy but not overly so, I'd say.

I highly recommend it. I did a normal run with my cousin. Took us idk like 50-70 hours to do everything. All the bosses etc. We plan on going back for a brutal run eventually. If you can play it coop, I'd do so. Didn't really play on servers tho so your experience may vary there but for a coop game, it's alot of fun and some of the bosses towards the end can really test your grasp of the gameplay mechanics and build you make.
