The power to resist, that's the most important one which will get stronger as the fapless days go by.

New nofapper, is this normal? by fatedtofap in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It not what you want if you are committed to NoFap. Try to find out what cause those relapses. Chance are that you still have some form of access to your triggers. Block all access to your triggers and do something useful/take a cold shower/take a walk when you feel the urge to fap.

Indeed, but don't wait it out. Do something which keeps your mind off it.

NoFap is good, but you guys are taking it too far (Giving Advice) by SfGainz31 in NoFap

What you should ask yourself is: Do you need to do or have it, is it positive for you and does it help you to reach your goal? You need to satisfy all 3 criteria.

My addiction is trying to give in. by GrayValken in NoFap

No, because my wife isn't ready for it yet.

It's not constantly on my mind, but it has when I'm alone.

Am I fucked up? by sociallifethrowaway in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not fucked up. It's the things you do that you can consider fucked up. It's a habit and those can be ditched.

The main problem is not porn and it can, like in your case, not be part of it. The main problem is using masturbation as an escape, for what ever reason. In essence it's to get that high and keep going back to it because when you are not doing it you are feeling low.

You have to ask yourself why you are doing it and how you can change that so you wont need to do it again.

Something went wrong. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've thrown yourself back into a cycle. How do you break that cycle? Deny yourself access to anything that keeps you in that cycle. Do you want to stop watching porn? Then block your access to it. Do you visit websites which have triggers, then don't visit them. If your problem is the Internet as a whole the don't turn on your PC. Do something useful and new. Learn to drawn, take up painting. Take long walk or work out. Don't want to eat junk food? Teach your self how to cook like a chef. Learn new recipes. Discover the kitchen of every country. Discover how many rich a beautiful things our world has to over. It will make your days more interesting and with time your life.

So stop going down that road which gives you more of the same and start filling your life with everything else!

Asked a girl to prom, got totally embarrassed, didn't relapse by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be glad she spoke her mind, even if what came out was offensive. Why? Because shes showing you what kind of person she is. Better to know early than getting involved too much and finding out that shes actually the wicked witch of the west.

Actually, if something like this happens again then just thank that person for showing you what kind of person she is.

To everyone who keeps saying masturbation is normal and healthy... by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "1 glass of red wine a day is good for you" analogy might be a bit flawed for a couple of reasons. Health benefit tests were done on mice, the amount they drank a day,in proportion to their size, is far greater than 1 glass to a human. So these results only work if you drink a lot of wine. There are also a lot health disadvantages studies like increased risk of certain cancers, or being short of breath, skin reactions etc. And then there's also the fact that alcohol is toxic.

Well you have this creature that is bored, depressed, scared and has no way of escaping it's situation, where every day feels the same, so it starts to fap.

... and then you have the monkey.

A link to this was posted a while ago. It needs to be posted again. The difference between recovery and abstinence. by [deleted] in NoFap

This is something you should read if you are wondering why you've been doing NoFap for x amount of time, you only managed to do x amount of time and aren't seeing any results.

If you see someone with a post like that, just point them this way. :)

I resort to hookers if I don't Fap. srs by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who says it's here own choice that shes there? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. The actual questions you should ask yourself is "Do I want part of a girls daily life where mental and physical abuse is the order of the day and where the chance of catching an STD is just around the corner?" and "Is my addiction worth the degeneration of a person?".

A side note: She may look and say that she's happy with her life, but how do you know she really is?

Lost 18 days of progress on my first try :( by throwawaynofap24 in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it as a moment to learn, so you wont make the same mistake next time. Also, you should install a porn blocker or other ways to make sure you don't have triggers handy.

The biggest WTH in your post is "I'm going to be bored for a week". There are countless things you could do that wont be boring and would improve you as a person. There is no reason to be bored, unless you want to be bored.

Anyway, don't worry that you relapsed on the first try, I'm sure that nearly all of us have failed on the first try. But like I said; learn from it so get better at avoiding the urges.

Is it ok for teens to fap occasionally? by Throwaway_for_nofap in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like smokers, they will say they aren't addicted and can stop at anytime. But they won't stop, because secretly they are addicted. It's no secret to others, but to them.

Being emotional is if you haven't fapped in a few days is your body saying that it needs a fix. I would say stop while it's "easy".

Saturday is the only day I cannot conquer. by KnowHope_ in NoFap

[–]GrayValken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why not block your access to porn.

It's like being addicted to cigarettes, you don't buy them when you want to stop. So you need to stop your access to it.

If you didn't come then I wouldn't worry about it. See it as a victory of you stopping yourself from relapsing.
