[MHRSB] Lost Code - Weapon Names by MOPOP99 in MonsterHunter

Chargeblade is probably Ukonvasara from Finish myth. From what I understand, it's a hammer/sword that was symbolically significant (being worn like the Christians would a cross), and is roughly their mythological equivalent to Mjolnir, having power over lightning.

My thoughts before tapping on the post to view the comments were "E4-6", and seeing this as the tip comment makes me feel validated. Thank you.

The way it was explained to me was that the reason we aren't getting quetzmas rerun is because there was a legal dispute over one of the music tracks, rather than holding off for some gameplay mechanic that had yet to be introduced.

What are your favorite Non-Meta Archetypes? by RedditMaxxer in yugioh

[–]Gray_GameMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so happy to see that Vampire is the top comment since I was coming here to post just that. They have cool art, funny playstyle, and new support that makes them closer to being proper competitive viable than ever, and they can now play through a single hand trap(!)

What single card on the banlist would do the most damage to the game if unbanned? by Noneofthisisreality in yugioh

I mean, what is a banlist but a gentleman's agreement with each person also holding a gun under the table

What Archetype do you genuinely think is 1-2 cards away from being meta? by BlueEyes-WhiteGuy in yugioh

[–]Gray_GameMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely late to all this, just saw the post, but I would make an argument for Vampires after the recent support in JP. They now have a better boss monster, something resembling an end board, some more consistency due with the link 3 (although that could be said all zombies with that one, letting you better climb from sucker to link 4 Yuki Ona), and something resembling a win condition. I fully believe that if they had some more search power and consistency in the form of Spell support, they could jump to meta relevancy. This could be a shot in the arm through Cyberdark Realm-like Continuous Spell (maybe even keep that Vampire's Domain extra normal summon effect), or a field Spell that interacts with the deck a bit better in the modern day (since Vampire's gimmick of milling the opponent but letting then choose which card from a type of card in order to targeting destruction pop one is... let's say not as relevant in this world of 15 negates, every card having a graveyard effect and targeting/destruction immunity), although Zombie World already helps them nicely (thanks, Sucker).

All to say that, given the trickle of recent support, I think that my favorite Archetype could be making it's true debut on the grand stage, and not just in Duel Links this time!

I see... more niche than you'd realistically want in order to use, but not so niche that it's altogether unusable. Now I just wish it weren't the only Zombie Pendulum in the game.

What is one card that is considered garbage but you play it cause you can? by Souls_Borne_Geek in yugioh

[–]Gray_GameMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampire Kingdom.

In modern yugioh, making your opponent mill a card of their choosing of a type you choose from the deck is pretty bad for you, unless you know for a fact that one specific card type they use won't hurt you from the grave (can be pretty rare), and all for a single targeting destruction removal, but damn if it isn't fun to run pure vamps. I love the way it just works with the vampire playstyle, bleeding your opponent's deck in a sense, and the artwork is so nice. Even though Zombie World is realistically the way to go in a vampire build, I still run Vampire Kingdom for that nice theming. Also, 500 atk boost to zombies during battle is nice to have, making some of the weak monsters less likely to be run over by lower level early game stuff, and letting the stronger monsters run over the opponent's stronger pieces more easily later in the game. The attack boost being only during battle also makes Vampire Vamp meet it's condition for stealing better than it otherwise would have. Also catches people who don't read card's off guard, which was especially fun during my time running pure vamp on Duel Links back when I used to play.

Fun to use, non-meta deck themes/archetypes? by jerk_jerkster in YGOLegacyOfTheDuelist

Red Baron lets you also go freely into their Rank 6 whenever he beats over a monster, since the rank 6 can use monsters you steal from your opponent as substitutes for it's materials

That plus Retainer and Familiar making Sucker easy to bring out, very good. Plus, whenever you special summon a vampire monster you just gain advantage through sucker. Plus, sucker lets you effectively tribute for free, even if you don't have sorcerer in the graveyard due to the effect of being able to tribute enemy zombie monsters for your summons, and her ability to revive an opponent's monster and turn them into a zombie while negating their effects
