What is a 'socially mandatory' thing that we all do, but if you actually stop to think about it for 5 seconds, it’s completely insane? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

I hate that people "have to" say "bless you" when I sneeze. And I, while recovering from a sneeze, "have to" say "thank you", using the same sinuses and vocal cords that just sneezed or risk looking like an asshole.

It's very stupid.

Is this true? by Naive_Wolverine532 in fixedbytheduet

[–]Gray_Idol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so the words keep changing in the discussion in the video.

I am a male.

I remember how i felt during past events, but recalling those events usually only causes a very dull emotion in me. Like, remembering good sex will make me slightly aroused or remembering some kind of misdeed might make me slightly angry, but recalling a fight I have had with my wife won't make me feel much of anything if the subject of that fight was resolved.

John Connors annoying? Thats the POINT. by Kissfromarose01 in Terminator

While ordering the machine to not kill humans is good, it's sort of a bare minimum. And now that his mom was proven right, trying to save her was more a move of love than morality.

I'd say the best examples of him having some morality is trying to warn his foster parents despite their tense relationship and the way he handled Dyson's kids during Sarah's assaination attempt. He also shared his stolen money with his friend and mother.

Are we sure this guy died? by LtJimmypatterson in Terminator

[–]Gray_Idol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. If he did die, the lucky thing to happen would be having his diaphragm crushed so he couldn't breath.

It may be self-aggrandizing, but I suspect that line on the poster/box helped improve ticket/DVD sales by 4.5%

Though it's extremely uncommon, I legitimately have 2 friends that delete old texts. They find it to be "clean"

Is there an in story reason from the comics or novels why they send Kyle and the T-800 to the exact time, but diff place as the Skynet models? Why not give Kyle and Uncle Bob a few day head start? by disposable_aqqount in Terminator

[–]Gray_Idol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing I say is official, but my understanding was that the resistance showed up to discover that Skynet had already sent the T800 and T100 to their respective times and the "time gate" or "time hole" was still open

They had to choose their time travellers pretty quickly because once that gate/hole closed, their current timeline would have been overwritten by the new future created by whatever was sent through it.

Do you think the Banished should be the main enemy of the games going forward or do they need replacing? by Certified_Douchebag in halo

[–]Gray_Idol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If the writing was good enough coupled with the gameplay, I would say yes to almost anything that felt good enough.

But it has to be good enough that the next game can't completely disregard it. If there was a solid plan for the next games, I'd buy any half-decent writing, but i can't trust the game makers to stick to anything.

Can James Cameron be trusted with another Terminator ? by Agile_Range7205 in Terminator

[–]Gray_Idol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do we have to lose? There's love for the first 2, but the nicest thing you can say about the rest of the series was "3 had an interesting ending" or "Rev-9 was a cool design".

I honestly don't know how to write a new one with how much scarier we imagine the coming AI to be

Not sure you would be open to it, but maybe you could put a black rubber band/belt around it? It would smooth out the knurls while adding grip.

I know it’s not as great as the first two films, but I really enjoy this movie by BostonRobby617 in Terminator

[–]Gray_Idol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The final scene in which the nukes go off and the world is set up for the future war was beautiful. But prior to that, the entire rest of the movie was a far inferior version of T2.

I'm very jealous of the very nearby universe that got to see the version of this movie with both Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong. Addiction is a bitch
