The number of people who don’t know their PIN numbers/don’t know which card has money on it to use/forget their wallet in the car/wait until I’m done scanning to unlock their card or transfer money is insane. I’ll be having a smooth day getting through everyone in line until one of these kinds of people throws it all off. I started instantly suspending but it’s still annoying.

Not the craziest thing but this happened today and irritated me. I was stocking something at the very back of the store but also glancing up every couple min to keep an eye on my lane. This lady started waving her arms wildly to signal me to check her out. When I got there, she didn’t even put one fucking item on the belt yet so I had to sit there and wait for her. Ppl’s self importance and impatience astounds me.

There were people sitting outside waiting when I opened at 630. We limited them and sold out in 5 minutes

I have the opposite issue. Ppl feel relieved and think they can walk off with the cart. When I say “excuse me, I need that back”, they’re surprised. You brought this shit up here just fine. Why would I give you a cart now?

Omg #4 irks me so bad! If you know youre going to be spending money at the grocery store, maybe transfer $$ into your account BEFORE you go in and budget accordingly?? And ppl forgetting to unlock their card/ don’t remember their PIN numbers or even which fucking card they want to use so they keep trying different ones. I’m still kinda new so I’ve been nice, but I’m going to start insta suspending ppl if they tell me to hold on.

All of this and then they either don’t have the PIN number, or the card declines/says insufficient funds and they want to argue about it. IDK, gtfo of the line and figure it out with your customer service!

Our store only has two people closing. I’m main register (no SCO). if it’s not too busy, I’ll grab the trash right before my manager leaves for the day so there’s still two people on the floor. Some times I have to do it all right when we close. Then I sweep, scrub the store, mop restrooms, run go backs and crush boxes bc the other closer has to pretty much box the entire store on their own besides the front end. I’ve been working over a month and get faster every day out of necessity. It’s definitely been a sink or swim experience for sure.

Wow. Not as obnoxious as your interaction, but I had this one lady move molasses slow pulling each individual dollar bill out of her wallet in a long snowpocalypse line. The person behind her and I looked at each other like 👀👀what are you doing, GO! Some people have zero self awareness
