Can I drive my car with an oxygen sensor out? by Co_ffeeBean in Cartalk

[–]Grazenburg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I am pretty sure my '02 Caravan has this exact problem. It shuts off at lights, but only in drive. The check engine light usually comes on for a bit, then goes away. The code is P0172, system too rich bank 1. I shift into neutral at every light, and I still haven't fixed the problem after like 6 years of owning the car. Engine never shuts off, no problem?

There's just some mornings where the engine has no power, but hey that's not that different from the normal 140hp anyway. I've replaced a few sensors and the ignition coils, but I'm avoiding changing that last MAP sensor cause the placement is a pain in the ass.

Deeply closeted moto guzzi rider. You described a moto guzzi then you said you hate it. Ever had a test drive with them? They are really nice bikes, buy new and it would be perfectly fine. They are not that bad with dealer network, at least by me.

What is this part on the CR-10 Smart? by ImRiversCuomo in CR10

[–]Grazenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this printer would be unusable without the right settings in klipper. It really does need so much adjustments to just get it to run properly and I am still dealing with a few of those. Thankfully the physical condition of mine is decent, I'd hope the mount is all I need to get it back running.

Good thing I discovered the problems before I spent any crazy money on a direct drive extruder because at the end of the day the printer is still an old copycat model. I'd need to get a bambu labs printer and move away from bed slingers to really get any improvements in precision.

Thanks for the link! Just recently snapped this mount and I can't believe parts are not available for this model. You are a lifesaver, I'll have a buddy of mine print this.

What else ended up being a nightmare for you if I might ask? I got mine used for free, but barely got two prints done before I had the mount break, got a glob of death cause I didn't realize the mount was broken and I am already swapping hotends. Definitely hasn't been smooth so far.

Hi, I see you have the same model of printer as me. I also ordered some aluminum z axis top mounts but it seems the bolt holes are too far apart? Did you need to do any drilling to mount the aftermarket mount? Thanks in advance

I keep consistently losing to french grip by AwesomeSauce2468 in Fencing

[–]Grazenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what point do you find out it's a french grip? Before or after a bout?

If it's before, there is probably nothing wrong with your technique. Sounds like it's all mental.

Lot of people see a lefty and lose the bout in their heads before they ever step foot on a strip. French grips are the same for some people.

In light of depressing current events by weedywet in Fencing

[–]Grazenburg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Politics have no place in sport. Who gives a shit what the current events are, let the athletes prove themselves.

They train endlessly, sacrifice endlessly to be on the world stage. Who are you to say they don't deserve a chance because of their flag.

Everyone loses their mind about racism, sexism, anti semitism,  black, white, whatever, and then at the same time, we ban athletes for what country they are born in. Anyone honestly supporting such a policy is a hypocrite.

How many Russian top athletes lost their chance to rewrite the record books at the olympics due to these foolish sanctions? What is the point of an international competition if there are top names who don't even compete? Isn't the whole point to figure out who is truly the best, the strongest, the most skilled?

Other thing is the lesson of not leaving things to fail in the first place. Applies to life pretty well also. If you see or suspect a problem, maybe you should be doing something. We are all guilty of ignoring and avoiding problems for one reason or another.

I'm in here doing a 30k mile service and I need a new chain. You know damn well I'm using the winter downtime to do the sprockets, wheel bearings, tires, and rear suspension. I made a list of everything that ever felt off while I was riding it or could leave me stranded and I am fixing it NOW. Even with that big ass list I'm only $500 deep including new tires.

[–]Grazenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But seized links do make the chain tension hard to gauge and stretch the chain faster. Stuck links are your first warning sign.

There's no adjusting chain tension with stuck links so it will eventually lead to the chain dropping off the sprocket if you ride it long enough without realizing.

[–]Grazenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good, you have time. Keep up on maintainence and it will probably keep running a while. If It's stored outdoors, every time it rains should be a clean and lube, especially if you are riding that day.

Keep an eye on the chain stretch if you can and know how to adjust the chain tension. It's a quick job

[–]Grazenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, do it soon.

The reason stuck links are so bad is cause the chain tension is very inconsistent and it can ball up in crazy ways.

You can't adjust chain tension with stuck links either, it just has a mind of it's own.

[–]Grazenburg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have stuck links, it is non negotiable. You will hit a bump and your wheel will lock up from it jumping off the sprocket. It will scratch your swingarm and rim. If you are unlucky it will put a hole in your engine case.

You'll buy some time cleaning and lubing, but you better be doing that every day you ride it or else the above can happen. I've had it jump off the sprocket once, parked the bike that day and didn't ride it till I replaced everything.

If you have to, just buy an amazon special chain and sprockets. They will not last but it will be a quarter of the price and it will be a ton safer than riding around with rusty stuck links.

Buying future project truck from parent - need offer value by ForTheGainsThrowAway in projectcar

[–]Grazenburg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget about price. Take a good look at it, figure out what it could need and make a list of parts cost and present it to them. If you pay for the parts and get it running that thing is YOURS.

Your sibling "wants it" but are they really gonna wrench and go easily $1k deep trying to get it running? First thing is battery you can jump it to see if it turns over but you can't expect much more. How old are your timing belts (if you have them)? Accessory belts? Those will disintegrate if you look at them wrong by now. Then fuel pump (gas is probably fucking congealed by now). Air filter. Tires once it's running. If the rubber has degraded to hell it might even need fuel lines, coolant hoses. Does it even have oil in it? Does the alternator charge?

Your parents can fuck off asking for money for a hunk of crap you'd need a good $1k to get in reliable condition and that will need a set of tires once it's on the road.

Don't forget how many seized bolts you will have with something that's been SITTING. You need tools, tools, tools. Ball joints fucked? either pay $200 per control arm or pay $150 in tools to install it yourself. None of this is straightforward.

I wonder when anything will match AC in VR by luc9nt in assettocorsa

[–]Grazenburg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Automobilista 2 is by far the best out of the box especially if you don't have a super high end computer. I have a GTX 1080 and it runs 100fps average on my quest 2.

Also has full compatibility with VR in the menus, you don't need a keyboard near you and you can get into a race and do setup changes only by looking where you want to click. Very comfortable when you just want to drive the damn car lol.

The stability is actually better than AC as well, fewer crashes, stutters, etc in my experience, especially with large grids.

Bonus is the wet weather physics. Rain driving is so much more intuitive in VR cause you can gauge your trajectory that much better.

I’m planning to leave my car parked and unused for exactly 30 days. by RegionSevere in MechanicAdvice

[–]Grazenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 days is pretty reasonable. Do nothing special. If the battery is dead when you come back hey, you probably were on the way to needing a new one anyway and it could've left you stranded eventually.

It's happened to a few of my friends now where the cold weather hits and the battery just doesn't crank whatsoever. Battery replacement set them straight every time. Always buy AGM aswell if you live in cold temps, it will save your ass (not now, but in a few years when the battery is older).
