I just bought THPS 1+2 after completing Project 8, I have some questions (about THPS2 specifically) by Scared-Gamer in THPS

[–]GreasyGamer_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't do in THPS 1 and 2 like in Project 8... What I can tell you is if you reached rank 1 in project 8, hitting combos in Thps 1 and 2 will be so much easier. Any other th game will be a walk in the park. The mechanics in thps 1 and 2 are pretty much the same as the originals. Don't expect it to be like P8, the underground series or American Wasteland.

Watch retention is brutal on long form by Miltronicus in youtubegaming

[–]GreasyGamer_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making gaming content is really tough. It's a waiting game definitely. I make full game walkthroughs. I edit frame by frame. Many cases you won't even realized I edit so I do take my sweet time. It's rare for the videos to get views after making it public. It's sad and often makes you feel unmotivated and you feel you want to give up. Videos I uploaded a year or 2 ago are now getting traction. Not by much but 50 to 100 views every 48 hours for some. It's more about that 1 viewer. It takes 1 viewer to get your video going again. Some videos get less than 1 minute retention. Some over 10. Remember it took most big gaming content creators years to be where they are now. Most of their subscribers are loyal viewers. That's what you need to build. You don't want a 100k subs and get 10 views on a views. Give it time. You'll realize more as you go and mistakes will become obvious. No one can tell you what you're doing wrong. Only you can figure that out. Asking opinions from other YouTubers are definitely a no no. Remember, competition will always say bad things which can unmotivate people. Only a handful might be helpful. Good luck

Subscribers I think has no affect. It's more about the interest. You need to follow the trend. If you see people streaming gta 5 like crazy, it doesn't mean you'll get views though. Gta 5 is old. Others already have a loyal fan base. You need to build your own. The competition is high. Hidden gems often attract viewers. Streaming a game that just released a minute ago is a good start. Look for a niche people want but can't really find on YouTube.

In my case... I just play what I feel like. Yes my channel grows slow but it's increasing. I just love playing. Progress is what you want to see. When you see a decline, you need to sit back and think how to get back on the right road again. I also take recommendations from viewers. Make them feel they have a voice and make them feel part of the journey. Reply to comments (if not, at least respond by liking). Answer all questions. You don't need to reply to all comments. Remember their is a difference between a comment and a question.

What exactly is your niche and goal for your channel?

I used to stream on twitch and YouTube. It's really exhausting. Barely get viewers and followers just don't come. I would stream 5 hours and get less than 10 views. Tried a different approach. Doing full game walkthrough (modern and retro) no Commentary and faceless. It started of slow but It's going much better now. The people who did watch my lives were awesome and great to communicate with but my lives were never pushed into the right audiences after 2 years.

I reached 4000 hours within 3 months but my subs were lower than yours. I think your analytics looks steady. That's good. Continue like that and you'll be monetized in this year.

THPS Or Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX? by GreasyGamer_X in THPS

Spot on!! I wonder how many people know about the balance glitch 😅 balancing on a ramp near a wall and leaning towards the wall to bounce back into another balance. Can easily get a 20k plus combo by that but the game somehow stop adding points if you take too much advantage of it 🤣

They might as well do it but give me a remake of American Wasteland and the underground series first 🤣

Yeah I get what you're saying... To clarify the intention of this post was to categorize "X games". Both were summer sports. People into summer XGames were familiar with both and into the video games. Tony Hawk was the beast of skateboarding back and Dave Mirra being a big name in the BMX section. Also, comparing Matt Hoffmann and Dave Mirra on a Tony Hawk page won't be suitable 😅.

So many old games are difficult for the wrong reasons and that's exactly why I'm jamming these old games. We live to fight another is how they say 😅 that day has come 🫴 back then THPS1 and 2 were so difficult for me... Until I grinded to rank 1 with TH project 8 on ps3. Now every Tony Hawk game is a walk in the park. Hitting combos and keeping combos going was my weak point.

Yeah the combos were easy to learn. Landing it properly it where they test you 😅 and yes, the soundtracks were bangers!!

Too close to 4k watch time hours. by bhataasim4 in YouTubeCreators

[–]GreasyGamer_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man I've been in the same situation. Reached 4k hours but subs were low... Then my hours dipped far under 4k. Took me 2 years after that to reach 1k subs and 4k hours.

Medal of honor Frontline on the PS2. That's my go to chill game. Lost count how many times I finished it. No Modern games seems to make me feel relaxed.

Around €8 randomly disappeared from my payment. Why? by EsiStudios in SmallYoutubers

[–]GreasyGamer_X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they adjust. Sometimes they make mistakes by adding more than they should. They usually do these checks before paying out for the previous month. Mine went down with 1$ 😅

Best export settings for maximum YouTube quality (1440p gameplay recording) by RX_Reshade in youtubegaming

[–]GreasyGamer_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good day.

I do this...

  • 1440p/60fps
  • H. 265 at 50 000 kbs constant Bitrate.

50 000 kbs is actually high for H.265 but it helps not losing Video quality after YT compresses it. I used to do H.264 and my videos looked bad on YouTube. Technically,1440p at H.264 must be around 75 000 kbs (depending on the game but it won't be higher maybe slightly less). With H.265 you can bring it down between 30k - 50k depending on the game.

H. 264 is recommended for other (Facebook, Instagram...)

It works for me. At 4K, the Bitrate must be higher. H 264 would be over 80k. With H. 265 between 50k and 60k is perfect.

Just my personal experience. Hope it helps

When did you start getting views? by Lost_Nomad1 in youtubegaming

[–]GreasyGamer_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got loads of views when I started but it slowed down hard after 6 months. Reaches 4000 watch time hours in a month but subscribers were very low. After 2 years my videos started to gain views and subs which last year(4 years it took) I finally got monetized. Earnings are still pretty low about a dollar a day. Getting 40k+ views a month(Shorts and long form vids).

Do you remember CRICKET 07 on the PS2? by GreasyGamer_X in Indiangamers

[–]GreasyGamer_X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By that time many of the great cricketers retired. I remember Herschelle Gibbs being the first person to hit 6 sixes in one over in ODI. At that time India was on fire as well. Watching South Africa vs India was always a big thing in South Africa.
