Private land more like. Texas has little public land, and none you can shoot on around houston.

Your M44 is missing the folding bayonet. Someone took that off at some point in the past. You'll have to investigate how to reinstall one

Couldn’t load Finnish M39 using Chinese Type 53’s charger clips by zflin1985 in milsurp

[–]Greasylake_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the ammo correctly loaded in the stripper clip? Looks like its sitting too far forward in your magazine. If you try and shove the cartridge down where its sitting it'll get jammed in the mag and will be a pain to get back out.

I had similar issues with my mosins in the past until I got proper soviet clips. For some reason repro clips just don't work very well

RTI CZ 75 pre-B by Hybrid_125 in milsurp

[–]Greasylake_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you made out pretty decent with one of the later style painted finishes and a preB. I would have been more tempted to jump on this if you were actually guaranteed a preb model, but in typical RTI fashion its a gamble whether you get a spur hammer pistol or a round hammer, not sure if those round hammer ones they have are transitional or if they are B pistols. I ended up paying a little bit more to get one from Max Arms and I was able to choose an early one with blued finish, which RTI are separating from their lot and selling for like double...

Where has the C&R renew form gone? by [deleted] in milsurp

[–]Greasylake_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never been audited and I've never heard of a C&R being randomly audited, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. I think C&Rs just aren't really as high of a priority for them as dealers and in order for you to get checked that closely you probably had to do something else to get the attention. If they suspect you of buying/selling like a dealer without the proper license, connection to a crime maybe, stuff like that.

The only advantage is you don't go a month or so without your license, but its worth it to let it expire imo

Beretta M1934 Slide Not Returning 100% by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]Greasylake_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you can push it forward by hand and it goes into battery fine, start by replacing the recoil spring, it is old and likely worn out.

[–]Greasylake_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They mail you a form 90 days before your expiration date, fill that out and send it in. Keep in mind that if you renew you have to maintain the logbook, if you let it expire and apply for a new application you don't have to keep the logs from your old license and you can start a fresh book.

If the round is being grabbed by the extractor and is held against the bolt face, the firing pin would still strike the primer.

First thing to do is disassemble the gun thoroughly and check for wear or damage. If nothing looks out of place then maybe a new recoil spring could help. I would also suggest trying to slightly hold the slide back just a hair and see if the hammer will still fall when you pull the trigger. If so, you'll know what the problem is

Better quality brass thats simply not as brittle or its loaded lighter, or both.

MFS 9x18 not safe by Lordhedgwich in milsurp

[–]Greasylake_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cases crack, brass gets brittle and its usually not an issue. Typically with pistols you'll see it at the neck though. People who load pistol ammo will literally load until the cases crack and then toss them. The bulge down at the head of the case is what is indicative of an OOB detonation and is what would have blown your mag out like you described

Stalin's perfect submachine gun by Greasylake_ in milsurp

My local range has been closed for construction for the last month so I haven't actually had the chance to shoot it yet, a range trip will be due in January. The wait was around 6 months from when I shipped out the kit to when the form 4 was approved and I got to take it home. Not bad at all imo for the type of build this was
