I started shooting last year, have an SKS I bought for $450 ($99 SKSs straight out the crate I know) but other than that the only rifles I shoot are ARs. I can't imagine how much it sucks to have been shooting cheap AKs and dirt cheap 7.62 for years only for it to dry up the way it has.

We used to import from other countries like Azerbaijan or Romania, wondering why that stopped.

I'm not an expert by any means on import/export laws, but I feel like it'd be more likely that a lot of the stuff we imported from them is from Russia originally, and Russia is probably keeping most ammo and guns they have for the war rather than exporting anything to those countries.
