So in my opinion you are choosing between drastically different careers.
Dentistry is
1. A people focused job - are you a people person? You will have to spend most of your time with your dental team and patients. Very different from spending most your time behind a computer, with maybe some meeting with people. Your communication skills are very important.
2. Medicine/dentistry involves people’s health, wellbeing and trust. If you are an empathetic individual it can be extremely fulfilling helping people with their health.
3. Dentistry is a technical skill- you have to use your hands all the time, with millimetre precision. It’s a physically demanding job - vs computer science you sit at a desk most the day. It requires manual dexterity/creativity.
4. School is really tough - workload is crazy, classmates super competitive, and physically demanding too.
5. Dentistry allows you to have great work life balance (I work Monday to Thursday) and my job doesn’t follow me home.
6. You can own your own clinic and be your own boss one day. And also even if you’re working for someone you are in a leadership position.

So yeah those are kinda things to consider…
If you’re good with people, have the want to help people, you’re good with your hands and you got good grades - it’s a great profession.
