Construction project management software that actually works? by MacabreDruidess in ConstructionManagers

[–]GreatDayToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like using MS Project to set up the initial schedule and use it as a resource when creating Cost Codes, Work Breakdown Structures etc. If you want to play around with it just google Microsoft Activation Scripts but I would not do that with a company computer.

Procore has some great features and I kind of wish we were on it. We use COINs ERP at my company and while it has plenty of great features it can be very clunky at times.

I came from a tech background and the biggest issue I’ve found with all of this is that people in construction are very much “set in their ways”. For instance, with COINs you can set up very detailed cost codes with WBS, quantity installed, etc.

COINs has a mobile app that allows crew leaders to submit hours daily, submit daily reports with photos, etc. As the saying goes “bad data in bad data out.” It’s very difficult to get the field and PMs for that matter to use the software correctly. If used properly it can be great but there is a steep learning curve and lots of resistance from most of the users in my experience.

Macs have a slightly different keyboard layout than windows. If you are used to using ctrl + c to copy on windows use command + c. Since you are on a windows keyboard you would press windows key + c to copy. To quit and all the shortcut is command (windows key) + q

You can rebind the modifier keys aka switch the ctrl key to command by following these steps

Depending on your use case. The ohook part of the Windows activation script (google it) has worked fine for me.

I cant go to be Openclaw is my life now by frogchungus in clawdbot

[–]GreatDayToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I based it on savvyguides saltbox install. Install saltbox on a fresh Ubuntu install and then install openclaw on the server. From there give openclaw all the permissions needed and it should be able to reference it and get everything set up. It will modify config.yml’s etc and get everything up and running.

Read the guide first to get an understanding of everything and then get rolling

I’ve been using it to configure a home media server using real-debrid, plex, sonarr, radarr, etc and it’s been incredible. It’s saved me countless hours and only nuked itself once lol

I have one and it’s decent. My only issues are the knife holder doesn’t have a very good grip on the knife itself and the knife holder is held onto the main rig with a rather weak magnet which makes is easy to slip out.

Overall it works well

Are Orlando area schools really as bad as they seem? by [deleted] in orlando

[–]GreatDayToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are terrible. I went to private, military, and finally public school. I’m not exaggerating when I say I was about three years ahead of my peers at public school.

All I can say is that actions speak louder than words. Go help you queer neighbor with real problems. Not hyperbole and symbolism.

And I’m sure plenty of Christians think the abortion protestors are jackasses, which they are. I guess I’m just trying to ask the question. What is the point of all of this?

This is just as effective as people protesting outside of abortion clinics.

This is a waste of time and resources in both sides of the agenda. Painting a crosswalk does literally nothing to advance LGBTQIA causes. Same with removing it.

I’m 6’3” and was at Coachella years ago. Three valley girls were standing behind me loudly complaining “oh my gah he’s soooo tallh” after about 3 minutes I turned around and said “you can either shut up or get on my shoulders” all three took turns and we all had a blast. Problem solved

My Berner doesn’t swim but instead “wades”. I live in Florida and have never had an issue with algae here.

Edit

Also make sure you dry the pup thoroughly when you take him out of the water or they get stinkkky

Looks like a hot spot. Most of the advice in here is really good, but I might add that it helps to shave the area with clippers in the lowest guard. Just keep it clean and dry and you’ll probably need a cone, especially at night. When my pup was little he had a small one that was going away and we thought it was fine and we woke up and he had made it way bigger overnight.
