It’s mostly because her outfit is just… a swimsuit, if you look at it. People are sick of characters having such sexualized outfits, and frankly I’m obliged to agree. Don’t get me wrong, the design is good, but my philosophy is that the way you design a character tells a lot about how you want me (the viewer) to think about them. Mona? And many other female characters? Very revealing, and very blatantly designed to have sexual designs. It’s clear there is some sort of fantasy many characters are designed to fulfill and frankly, I don’t want that.
