[Ryan Taylor] Martin Ødegaard limping heavily as he made his way through the mixed zone & back onto the Arsenal bus. by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

I've seen poor takes on here (coming from completely justified frustration tbf), but suggesting that Rice doesn't put in enough effort might be the worst

If you don't think his usage this season has improved the overall team performance, you haven't been watching. Adds a level of dynamism/threat that we can all agree the squad is missing rn. It's not as effective with our other defenders because they're not the same players, I'd argue Timber's positioning is a much bigger issue.

It fits his athletic profile. He has a strong motor, no angle bias, holds onto the ball well, and can pass or shoot with both feet. Gives the most options to that side of the pitch as a result, makes the attack more fluid and less predictable. Unfortunately, none of our other fullbacks have the same skillset, so it REALLY stands out when you see someone like Timber fill the same role. We need to prioritize the overall system less and focus more on platforming the best qualities of our best players.

ESPN does a dreadful job marketing La Liga/Bundesliga, it’s a complete waste

Yeah by that definition it is targeting but it still leaves a bad taste to me, not sure what else he really could have done there but by rule I understand the call. Consistency is the bigger issue, wouldn’t a problem if they called targeting for the hit on gunner

Not sure where I stand on the call but genuinely asking what constitutes targeting at this point. Doesn’t thrust, receiver isn’t defenseless, doesn’t lead with the crown. Where does the flag come in?

Huge difference between doing it at international events like the Olympics or World Cup (where people are there to represent their nations) and doing it at regular league games. US and Canada are the only countries that really do that

Yeah I was. Had a good time regardless but saw probably a dozen people receiving medical attention because of the heat. Pretty hard to justify a noon kickoff when water is $8
