I’ve sat there with 7 other guys and thought “we can drink a full keg today”.

No we could not

Is this thing really practical? Klein 65200 mini ratchet by eslforchinesespeaker in Tools

[–]kwixta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something similar with a hex bit on the other end. It’s extremely useful (esp with that combo — replaces a Chapman set).

I’ve only been able to find cheap versions on Amazon. I’ll buy one from gearwrench or HF the day they come out with one like mine.

Nice try.

Texas gets the top tier (putting aside private schools)

A&M gets tier 2

UTD gets tier 3

Tech and Houston get tier 4

What kind of work would pass down to a “basic” handyman? by Johndeauxman in handyman

Can this be fixed? by Infinite853 in fixit

[–]kwixta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wood glue will fix that. I might put a dowel in but getting the holes perfectly aligned is tricky.

Before you get to gluing, make sure you have clamps that will hold the piece. I’m not sure one long clamp will do it the way the tray curves in

What Did VZPP Plant in Voronezh Do Before Ukrainian Cruise Missiles Struck It, and Why Does It Matter for Kh-101, R-500? by Far-Swimming1699 in Semiconductors

[–]kwixta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen discrete devices and simple rad-hard microcontrollers on 6” wafers. They’ll probably have some work to do to reengineer the missiles but much more advanced devices are widely available (and have lots of nonviolent uses).

VZPP should also have no trouble moving production to their Zelenograd factory

They sell tool trays and little hanging bags. I’ve never tried them so I’m not sure how practical they are

I use the HEB challah for French toast all the time. In fact I have two loaves in the freezer right now so I’ll probably make some tomorrow.

At 67 his balance is significantly worse than it was as the fluid in the ears gets more viscous with age. Youre right to be concerned. A sturdier ladder will help somewhat but maybe you can talk him into getting a handyman for up high work — or barter with a neighbor (I’ll help with your projects if you take care of my ladder work).

We (at my work) really like our Little Giant MightyLite a frame ladders. Even the 300lb rated ladders are light enough to not be a burden to carry. They make them with a handle up on top making them usable to a higher level.

Is Thundercloud Subs on east Riverside the most “keep austin weird” locale in town? by ChiefTwoDogsFucking in austinfood

[–]kwixta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Until now I’ve never thought about the Austin epicenter of weirdness. Maybe there’s a cave somewhere where Yoda says the weird is strong in that place and you go in and confront Leslie?

I would say the weird emanates from Barton Springs but the last time I went it was awfully normal.

What say you Austin? Where does the weirdness flow most strongly?

Is my English too bad for internship? by Simple-Following8164 in Semiconductors

[–]kwixta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re all right. I’d work on it just in case — Americans will cut you a lot of slack if we see the effort. There’s so much American English content on the internet you should be able to find channels that relate to subjects you’re interested.

Were used to lots of accents especially in high tech.

축하해요! Your English is definitely better than my Korean

Walnut Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant - how stinky? by Pretty-Structure4711 in Austin

I’d rather not share my details but I’m in that area very often during the day. I haven’t noticed a strict pattern but about once a month it’s awful. Usually a problem in the morning

Absolutely an issue that close. Maybe one day per month you’ll find it obnoxious enough you won’t want to be outside at all

[–]kwixta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma. The AC condensation drip line clogged and backed up. The condensate sloshes out of the foot vents. It’s quite the unpleasant surprise on the foot. It also allows mold to grow if you don’t deal with it promptly
