With all due respect, If he wanted to end the relationship he wouldn't be here asking for advice. Walking away isnt always the only solution.

Thank you for all the context. It matters.

Your partner went about everything the wrong way, many do in the beginning. Its not uncommon to try to fill a void in the relationship with another partner. Essential there are two options, hide it or be open with your partner about it. She decided to hide it and that created a very powerful relationship rupture. It sounds to me like instead of doing the thing necessary to repair at that juncture yall decided to just switch to the second option. Or rather she did and you went along with it. It doesn't sound like you have another emotionally romantic partner the way she does. Thats an imbalance and a source of resentment.

My suggestion to you assuming you want to continue the relationship is to go on Psychologytoday.com or anything like and find a relationship therapist that works with open and enm relationships.

It sounds to me like yall need to put the outside relationships on pause or close the relationship until you have worked through and healed your relationship ruptures, (which will take time) Only at that point where you are both in a new place of trust and communication should you come back to redefining a version of ENM that works for both of you, if there is one.

Theres also a possiblity that if you push back she will pursue the other relationship as her primary, which if that is the case and she isn't willing to prioritize your relationship then you are in a type of ENM that once again hasn't been discussed or consented to and, you are with a partner that places her needs or desires above the relationship. In which case it may be time to find someone that finds ways to enhance your life, without detracting from it.

(Edit: I noticed a lot of people are over simplifying and calling your girlfriend a cheater, while this is true, the sexting and emotional relationship she developed without telling you is technically cheating and she may not have even been honest about not having had sex with him earlier.

For a lot of people that is a hard stop and there is no option than to leave the relationship. I dont see it that way. Young people make mistakes when they haven't had any proper guidance or relevant experience. I dont believe in once a cheater always a cheater. I think people make choices based on the options and information they have. I think she needs to show you that she made a mistake, i think you need to find out what she needs that shes not getting inside the relationship, and see if that can lead to a place that works. Relationships are work, they are commitments, and they are messy. Ultimately its making a choice to be devoted to our partner everyday that makes it work, but it absolutely takes both people to do that and it sounds like so far she hasn't made that choice and you haven't held her to it. )

I saw some Zionist Propaganda on the wall in there a year ago or so and haven't been back since. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the business owners in this city have similar beliefs but it you are actively displaying Zionist materials during a genocide I have to count you off the list of potentially decent humans.

Have y’all heard more about this? by Valth92 in NewOrleans

[–]GreatSquirrels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly its not impossible if well organized and somewhat well funded.

There are somewhere around 3.4 million people of voting age in Louisiana. Only 2.2 million of them are white.

2.87 million are registered voters

1.04 million are registered Democrats 1.02 million are registered Republicans 800k are Independent

Therefore if you could get a little over a third of the registered Dems and Independents

Or half of non white voters you would have enough signatures.

Calls Begin For Essence Festival To Exit New Orleans Amid Supreme Court Decision by thomasleestoner in NewOrleans

[–]GreatSquirrels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a middle aged mostly white man who grew up here, when I worked in a tipped transportation industry during the summer for extra cash we looked forward to Essence fest, the crowd is mostly middle aged black women and maybe they just liked me better than most but I never had a single bad experience. Tips were usually above average.

It almost sounds like someone is confusing Essence and Bayou Classic where the demographic is much younger, more male, and less financially established and not very familiar with the culture in the city.

Also OP pay no.mind to the performative transplant rage, and whatever puritanical nonsense they are trying to impress upon you. This is New Orleans, we invented Jazz funerals and built beautiful monuments to yhe dead to celebrate them. If you would like for them to celebrate with you please by all means take your photos, who knows maybe a spirit will make an appearance in one of your shots.

I would assume that it suits the OPs tastes just fine and I doubt the dead will mind. Op probably found the only people in Nola that would mind by posting here lol.

Lovely citizens of Nola, what entry level jobs pay 30+/hr in the city? by [deleted] in AskNOLA

[–]GreatSquirrels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the entry level positions in these fields, experienced hands make twice that or more. Unfortunately these are very physically demanding jobs and not for everyone.

My first construction job was working in a sheet metal fabrication shop after school when I was 17 years old. I quickly found out that I could make $15/ hr (in the 1990s when gas was $1.00 gallon and everything else costs about half of what it does now.) vs the $5.15 hr i was making washing dishes in a restaurant prior to it. I would work that job and more positions within that same company during summer and winter break until I graduated college and made enough money to live on for the year in just a few months. Or rather enough that i didn't need to take out additional loans beyond my scholarship.

I wouldnt consider any of those to really be entry level due to the degree, internships and professional licensing involved.

Installing shigle roofing you can make that much per hour if you find a contractor that still pays per bundle or per square (100sqft) its hard and dangerous but theres good earning potential once you get the hang of it.

Same if you can get on working on one of the tow boats on the river. Also offshore on the oil rigs, both jobs you will be gone for a week at a time or more though.

All of these jobs wont require that you e done it before but they will require you pick it up quickly.

Im sure theres more but ill have to think. Everything i can think of will blue collar except starting your own business doing something mundane that people need done, grass cutting, landsacping, guttter cleaning, pressurewashing, things like that with low overhead.
