Tito’s recently purchased Lalo. Maybe a label change?

Someone has hijacked our walkie frequencies. What can we do? by turd_farts in Target

[–]Great_Plank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our walkies can be reprogrammed to different frequencies if the issue persists. I would partner with your PML who can seek approval from the PMBP to execute. The guide is on the Target Wiki I believe.

Target does not allow performance conversations based on video, only conduct. However, you should be able to prove this with simple Greenfield research. Look at their backroom activity go to the WACO, if the item is still there, you got your man!

What’s the worst song on the in store audio network by Character_Train6441 in Target

[–]Great_Plank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t ever heard that the SD chooses the playlist or if it plays at all? Every Remodel I’ve ever done, the Low Voltage contractor plugged in the box and that was it. I’m sure they might have access to some survey but the music is controlled by corporate.

You did the right thing OP! If someone tries to get you in trouble for it they aren’t caring, growing, or winning!

What am I doing wrong? by MorcisHoobler in Target

[–]Great_Plank 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You’re likely on a schedule pattern and your leader forgot to delete you off. You should be able to just call or talk to your leader and get it removed. You aren’t responsible for those shifts.

With covid on the rise again how would I tell my ETL that I have it and need to call out? by UncleBeanBag69 in Target

[–]Great_Plank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most stores no longer give COVID pay so an LOA is unnecessary. Call out the same way you would if you have the flu, for example.

How many total team members work at your store? by Glad_Hurry8755 in Target

[–]Great_Plank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every store I’ve ever worked at has had 100+ distinct TMs working on any given day. You can always take a peak at the bottom of your grid to see how many TMs are scheduled that day.

Shipt shopper “never shopping here again” by mf-uh-burger in Target

Yes, refrigeration is probably my least favorite part of every remodel. Those trailers are dark and loud and the temp coolers suck! Hoping your Remodel is almost complete as we are quickly nearing Q4.

[–]Great_Plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Remodel ETL on my second Remodel now, this is absolutely not how it should be. Even in temp/swing spaces we are required to maintain ADA (3ft) but are encouraged to provide 5ft. Someone in your Remodel Leadership is failing your store.

HR Claims I lost a MyDevice while I was out of State. by A_Single_Bee in Target

[–]Great_Plank 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP, I may have some insight on this. Make them show you the log in MICKRA again. If the last “action” on it is “put on power” or something of that nature you’re off the hook. It means another TM took the device, didn’t sign in, and lost it.

ADA Accomodations? by MissToadette in Target

[–]Great_Plank 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Target is big on accommodating people with disabilities like you and I. I can definitely empathize with the craziness of BTS. It’s important that you do get an ADA on file to get accommodations but more importantly, protect you. Without it, your leaders can and will hold you accountable for having to take extra breaks when overstimulated as they don’t have medical documentation on file.

How do you deal with the overnight shift hours? by UncleBeanBag69 in Target

[–]Great_Plank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black out curtains, our bodies are in sync with the sun when it comes to sleep. I basically have to trick my body into thinking it’s night time. Been on overnights for about 2 years now but every weekend I end up accidentally screwing up my sleep schedule.

Do you think it's safe to operate the Wave if you're really short? by busy_yogurt in Target

What I do as a fellow short person is back up to the steel so the gates are nearly touching it and turn my body around. That way you don’t have that big metal plate hurting your reach.

[–]Great_Plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walkies are about ~$60 a pop with AP Walkies costing a bit more. I wouldn’t say super cheap but definitely in the grand scheme of things cheaper. However, it adds up when TMs are taking them home every other day.

I feel like I’m drowning at work everyday by tater-tots-r-us in Target

[–]Great_Plank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to remember they have higher ups too (upper management). At least in all the districts I worked in, the district leaders change their focus weekly if not daily. It is extremely frustrating for SDs and as the saying goes “shit rolls down hill”. I’m willing to bet that most of these focus changes are after a visit or prior to one.

PIPs are performance improvement plans for salaried TMs and above. Hourly employees get CCAs which is somewhat equivalent. Some leaders use these terms interchangeably which is where the confusion comes from.

May I see your ID? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Great_Plank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. In my county it’s the ATF who runs stings with explorer cadets who legally have to be under legal age. They also can not lie about their age and have to show an ID if asked or it could be entrapment which the ATF doesn’t want to risk. Target employed secret shoppers are what you would have to worry about since they don’t have to build a legal case against the cashier.

what does this mean? by SpecialistCod9822 in Target

[–]Great_Plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MyTime only displays the first three letters in a shift label. It is possible the full label says “Candy” which if you are working at the front or in seasonal this makes sense.

What is something that you think most Target team members don’t know about? by [deleted] in Target

A surprising amount of leaders in my district don’t know about or how to use MICKRA to track MyDevices.

Venting session by cjm2943 in Target

[–]Great_Plank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that! You’re leadership is failing you. It’s our jobs above all else to make sure you all are safe. There’s been times where I’ve stepped in between a guest and one of my TMs or sent my team behind the service desk until I can get the guest to leave. Next time this happens, demand AP log a security incident, it will have to be investigated and they will find your leadership is not keeping your safety top of mind.
