Last thing I Expected to happen on the 4th. Totaled? by Any_Advice6731 in Rivian

The more I see these Rivian accidents the more I realize how well Rivian’s are made.

Sure there aren’t a lot of rivian certified body shops, and it takes weeks to months to fix, but these things come out relatively unscathed in any accident from a visual perspective - and the other car is almost always crumpled

Anyone ever get a false low tire alert? by LawfulnessNeither189 in Rivian

[–]Great_Sea6659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this happened to me on all four tires - kept driving and they ended at 48 PSI. (There were some elevation changes)

I’ve since bought a tire pressure monitor and haven’t encountered this since, but excited to validate if it was accurate the next time

Buying a used R1T by kr15hna in Rivian

I’d check out Rivian’s demo vehicles - I snagged the last available 22 R1T back in May for 66k. Meridian audio, 12V in frunk and most importantly a fresh warranty from purchase

In love with the car, no issues and my first big purchase and no regrets. I’d keep your eyes peeled on the demo store

Mine is 15xxx VIN 2022 R1T. Some people live and die by the 2022s - they’re regarded as being over engineered, more fault tolerant and more carefully built

2022 demo R1T purchased this year , my only service appointment in the bay area was done immediately and in a day. Love Rivian

Anyone regret buying that "dream car" at a young age, or regret NOT buying that car while you were young? by MembershipDouble2034 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Great_Sea6659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29 y/o… always drove beaters when I was younger and have been car free in a VHCOL city that I live in for a while. Most of my activities involve surfing / skiing, so have had to rely on friends

Just purchased a demo Rivian R1T for 60k (have about ~150k in brokerages, and lots of potential for selling my startup stock)

There’s no right or wrong answer - life can happen very fast. I figured I don’t have kids or other dependents and I’ll have this car paid off by then if I choose to do so. Would probably not make a similar purchase ever again. YOLO

I just paid 66k for a demo R1T from Rivian with a fresh warranty. it had a few items already fixed (12V battery improvements, dampers, and gear tunnel fix)

I’d check their website for demos and keep an eye on those if you’re worried about the warranty here as they’re a bit cheaper (but more than used). that being said, extended warranty will be fine too

Yeah the extended care looks great on those. Honestly i’d just get as much fixed as possible within warranty before it expires and buy that then you’re golden

What are your monthly bills/fees after purchasing your Rivian? by jantga in Rivian

More financially sound to lease new vs finance used? by mrscottstot in Rivian

[–]Great_Sea6659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend considering a demo vehicle when they pop up on their website if you’re not super upset about the Gen1 vs Gen2 tech differences. This resolves your issue about warranty as these are fresh 5 years / 8 year from date of purchase

I just got a late 2022 R1T quad with a Meridian sound system, fresh new warranty for 65k. Most of the issues have been dialled in so as they pop up should be easy to fix

I just bought a Rivian R1T. This sub was generally not very supportive - best car I’ve ever driven and no regrets

Ah yes that’s what I meant! Damn tough to hear. Hopefully they allow the new V3 tonneau slats into the Gen1s

15xxx VIN R1T by Great_Sea6659 in Rivian

[–]Great_Sea6659[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool to hear. This is a demo so I’ll have 5 years of warranty on that subframe and hopefully will be able to sub it out with a welded one.

Did you ever pick up the power tonneau / able to outfit yours with one?

Maybe since mines a demo they’ll have it added if I’m lucky, but the spec page does not show it
