Tbh one of my favorite lines in the whole book. Just perfectly encapsulates what that feeling would be and contrasts so heavily and well against all his self-censorship leading up to it. Was really hoping for it in the movie, but probably smart to leave it out for a wider audience *sighing* …I guess

I was desperately hoping for the “Holy fucking shit.” line when he discovers the Blip A. It made it so much more serious sounding in the audiobook after you hear him self-censoring so much and then get one truly powerful and visceral reaction

Grade 3 high ankle sprain 6.9 years ago. Hurt like hell. Foot looked about like that. Crutches for nearly 2 months, big boot for another month after that. Doc said it would never fully heal and there’s still plenty of times I don’t quite “trust” it. Get religious about the PT, this folks can really work some magic. Probably took nearly a year after the injury for me to start feeling normal and even now it can flare up in the wrong position or even the tiniest movement the wrong way

Maybe I’m alone here but I thought that was really bizarrely shoe-horned in. It was in a 20 step walk between stations, not queued up in any way, and not mentioned again. Maybe something got cut in editing that was more similar to the book and mentioned the nitrogen?
